The track to and fro to that spot was a dis-used railway track which was overgrown rocks holes tress LOL and not recognisable as even a track if it wasn't for the tunnels trust me it was really off-road, but it was for hiking only which is why we had the road closed off for us and had to take an even worse route out of that place...never again, -
IT's Wednesday again and time for a wee jaunt around the mountains. Started off OK but when we had to go down what we were told was a bit of a dirt track, Well the guy who put this ride together wasn't joking. It was off road riding along what I think was an old railway track as we had to go through three long tunnels. We got to our destination only to be followed in by a police 4x4 who informed us that the track we had just come along is not for cars or motorbikes as it is not suitable?? so we had to leave by the only other way out which proved to be 10 times worse than the road in. The temperatures went up to around 43 degrees and by the time I got home I was ready to collapse, my wife reckons that my problem with high temperatures may have something to do with the fact that I'm a diabetic?? I don't know but I drank gallons when I got home and fell asleep for over 4 hours.. Happy Days!

I think I have my licence sorted, long story when we meet up I'll tell you all about it. -
Not posted in for a while as I have been so busy the house repairs have turned into a complete renovation and I have had a few problems with my feet, Plantar facilthingywhatsit. I have been out and about riding I've managed to rack up nearly 7000km this year only riding on a Wednesday as a rule, This week I went for a trundle around the mountains with some friends we stopped off for a meal after which it had gotten so hot I early didn't make it home. I've also been planning a ride back to England to visit family an race my car for the first time in two and a half years!!

We have been having some strange weather here, one day of sunshine then two days of rain and then three or four miserable overcast days. I was in shorts and tee shirts last year by the beginning of March...oh well last Wednesday 5th May the sun shone bright the temperature hit 32 degrees in the mountains and I must remember to find my Summer riding jacket. A couple of weeks back I had one of those days you try to forget but the wife wouldn't let me so for my birthday she bought me a new Go-pro, so last Wednesday was a good time to try it out, Got to learn a whole new stack of settings LOL. Getting fed up with You-Tube they have now decreed that my sampled bit of music that I have been using one way or another for some time is now covered by the copyright laws all 7 seconds of it and they even stuck a ban on one of my vids as the camera picked up a bit of music from a parked vans radio grrrr. There must be free alternatives somewhere out there. Anyway another 300kms was clocked up last week the video is from the first part of the trip as I only had a 32g memory card in it at the time.

The battery life is good for a drone Pete I got the drone with a triple charger and three batteries I get around 20 mins out of a battery
-
We have had the house here for nearly 6 years we moved over Christmas 2018 and yes not all Spain is burnt grass and brown LOL
-
Yes I know the rules Pete luckily my drone falls under 250gms so is not so affected by the rule
-
Not being able to ride at the moment as I have two bald tyres and the new ones haven't arrived yet I am relegated to just walking everywhere. About 18 months ago my wife bought me a drone to take with me on my motorbike travels but Covid hit so after flying it a couple of times its been in the cupboard, yesterday I found it charged the batteries up and took it out for a play while walking the dogs just to see if I could remember how it works...? I did manage to get some decent footage of the area behind our house.

I have to admit I've been suffering a bit recently with my knee and my back and not feeling to well but last Wednesday I bit the bullet and dragged the bike out for a run in the sun which did help me a forget about the aches and pains for bit LOL, So with the cafes partially open again and with the sun shining a ride was organised by the group I belong to we met up at a cafe just off the A31 near to Castella and then dissapeared into the Valencian countryside for a few hours and 310 kms. I got to admit the riding roads around this region of Spain are absolutely brilliant as a "norm" the A roads are fairly free from traffic and the country roads are almost empty. i apologise for the quality of the video in places as I am still trying to get my head around the settings on my newer Go-pro. I've had to re-position the camera onto the front of the bike as the previous position was on the from of my helmet and you could easily make out the speedo so i was advised to move it LOL.

HI guys just reading about the boundaries, we are not allowed to cross regional boundaries, luckily the Valencia region is made up of the Provinces of Castellion. Alicante and Valencia and that covers a huge area unlike some who live in much smaller provinces, I htink starting next month the restrictions are going to start to be reduced so fingers crossed it wont be too long and things might get back to some sort of normal.

I have started going out for a ride on Wednesdays, weather permitting of course! last Wednesday I couldn't go as the bike went in for its annual service on the Tuesday but was not ready to pick up till Friday, things do take their time here in Spain but I love the 100 euro bill. So I'm all ready for this Wednesday but! the guy who usually puts the rides together has hurt his back he usually sends me the route so I can put it into my sat nav. This week that didn't happen as one of the other crew put this ride together, so I had no idea where we were going except for the meeting point. I had two ideas one was to use the "record your trip" function on the sat nav and the other was to use the "Relive" app on my phone, I did both. After our first stop point for a drink my sat nav stopped no idea why? will look into that tomorrow but it didn't matter as I had the phone working at the same time, after around 180km we reached our lunch spot high up on a mountain next to a church of some description great views temperature in the high 20's. I got the phone out to find that the running app to record my route had actually flattened the phones battery and it had switched off. I will now have to go through my video footage and see if I can work out using the village names the route I took LOL. The point is had a great ride wherever it was and added another 300km to my total for the year which has already surpassed my total for the whole of 2020. All I can tell you is we were riding somewhere in the Valencia region of Spain in the Northern Costa Blanca area.

I found it strange as well, at the bottom of my road they have the word STOP painted on the junction and not Detener, I have asked the locals and no-one can give me an answer????

It would seem while we have the weather and the restrictions still allow we are are riding every Wednesday. now last Wednesday I managed to go round a roundabout the wrong way this week I managed to lose the group and get totally lost, The meeting place was a petrol station just outside the town of Sax which is around 92 km from my home, had to be there by 10am so an early start, and this time I left filling up the tank till I arrived at the meeting point. this proved not to be my best decision of the day as with over 40km to go the fuel light was flashing like mad at me and when I did fill her up she took just over 20 litres on a 23 litre tank, cutting it close. On the trip to the petrol station I used my SJ8 pro action cam as I had been having trouble with the sound from it and if you watch the vid I still was, I think I have sorted it out now along with the frame rate and sharpness. We set off in pairs as per the restrictions here and about half way to the destination while going through a town I noticed a police car so I hung back so as not to give the impression we were all travelling together, the problem was there was a roundabout and two junctions where I had no idea which way they had gone as I had lost sight of them, I was then stopped by two very nice policemen on motorbikes to have a little chat there job was to try and talk to bikers and just calm them down a bit as there had been too many incidents on the mountains roads since the weather had improved. The only thing I could do was to put in the destination in the sat nav and try to catch up with the other three which I did I waited just outside Castell de Castells on the CV709 and 30 minutes later they turned up, we then made our way to a rest stop which looked remarkably like a closed camp site, From that point on I used my go-pro which now seems to be behaving itself.....Roll on next Wednesday god knows what's going to go wrong then!! 1000km clocked p in 3 weeks so far, bike is in for its annual service in a weeks time better be back by Wednesday....Just did a google search and the campsite is "Zona Recreativa El Castellet" looks like its been closed for a while??
