Not sure really, I guess a lot will depend on the weather and how long it takes to make our way over.

Nah it’s perfect for it, small roads where 100bhp is pointless, poor surfaces, lunatic farmers in my side of the road. Perfect.

Setting off on Sunday 29th May and heading to Zaragoza to meet up with a couple of UK based mates. They’re riding down from the UK over two and a bit days on a Kawasaki Versys 650 and a spangly new Husqvarna 901 Norden……….I’m going on my Himalayan because it’s the only working bike I have at the moment (might chop it in when I get back so I can start a ‘guess-what-I’m-buying’ thread). The first day is a mere 546 klms for me from home to the hotel in the city centre. Good job I’ve got a fluffy sheepskin. Anyway, the plan is to head from Zaragoza through the Picos de Europa, then south into the north of Portugal (any tips of where to head to @Pedro?), returning home on Saturday evening. It'll be a blast and we’re sticking to the smaller roads so I don’t hold them up. Might even post some photos if I get really bored.

Just realised why you call it the mystery bike. You haven’t got a fucking clue what you’ve bought have you? I bet you’re hoping this poll will jog your memory you daft old twat.

It ain’t mine………..mines even less valuable

Safe as houses mate…….anyway, if it falls over it will probably cause several euros worth of improvements

Now, it may not look like it but progress has been made on the DR…….firstly, there’s a big box of bits turned up containing everything from the essentials such as wheel bearings and calliper rebuild bits and bobs to the less essential but bling driven film-flam such blue grips and anodised blue in-line fuel filters. You can’t have enough bling. Wheels out, fluids drained, degreased, seat ready for recovering, baffle being fashioned from an arbitrary item and just propped up awaiting a few more bits which need to be ordered e.g. the third wheel bearing for the rear wheel as I stupidly thought there was only two………….mechanically-challenged me. It ain’t ever going to be pretty but it will start, go and stop properly and that’s good enough for me………which reminds me of a girl I once knew. I know you’ll all sleep better knowing progress is being made.

I don’t get it, I mean how long does it take to pop some tassels on the end of the handlebars and make sure the stabilisers are on tight?

Pete’s changed his name to Quentin Gaylord to match the bike.

The Amazon river runs for thousands of miles. At some points, it runs through areas of the rain forest that are almost untouched and have been barely explored. Because of the porous limestone in these areas, the river water leaks through the stone and travels deep into the earth, and forms underground pools almost a mile below the surface. Over thousands of years, small blind transparent fish have lived and evolved in these pools. These fish have never seen the sun or the surface and have never been seen by the human eye, these fish care more about @XTreme’s next bike than I do.

I can only aspire to such greatness Bob ………. As for the rest of you, you clearly have no sense of adventure

Ain’t it just Pete……..I know it’s a bit of a dog but once sorted it’ll be good fun. Always wanted one and so I can put up with a little expense and time

In the advert the fucking thing had working lights because it still had the battery in. @XTreme is right about dago peasants……bunch of cnuts.
-
Cheers mate, already called in three mates to assist. Now thinking I may need a couple more to be in the safe side.

Complete abuse that’s how

Given the desperate state of my latest acquisition and the undeniable fun that can be had at someone else’s misfortune or stupidity (the latter in this case) I thought I’d start a thread of woe so you can take the piss properly. Here are a few photos for your amusement. As they say, things can only get better. 🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍

Fucking butchers the lot of ‘em

This is the only pic you’ll be getting from me of the b’stard DR600 A fair bit of work to do on it that’s for sure; brakes binding, wheel bearings fucked, ignition hot wired, battery missing (an optional extra here obviously ), tank and carb to be striped and flushed………apart from that it’s a beauty.
-
Cheap as patatas fritas down here eh @XTreme?

Out trail riding on Sunday, got three clients who fancy a bimble around the local trails on some ancient XR250s. They’ve had three days on track (Almeria etc) so I’m hoping they’re knackered so I can keep up!………I’ll be sweeping up at the back as usual but that suits me fine. I’ll try and take some photos if I remember.
-
I hope not Pedro……I only kept it because my wife said she likes it. Personally I would have had the thing removed…….maybe wait until she goes away for a few days and do it then. I’ll tell her someone must have stolen it in the night.

It’s a fucking tale of woe for the majority of people in the UK, just glad we left when we did. Certainly couldn’t afford to live there now and also couldn’t afford to move to Spain and take residencia now that the rules have changes after Brexit. On a brighter note I chopped the fuck out of a palm tree today using only a hand held blade. Always been useful with a blade ……….and the Himalayan is getting a thrashing tomorrow just because.
