Given that it is New Year’s Eve and I’ve been on the pop since midday I feel the time is right.

Well I cooked the Xmas dinner today and surprisingly we’re still alive. Hope everyone’s had a cracking day and here’s looking forward to a great New Year……….now where’s that bottle of Drambuie?

It made me laugh when all you heard at the end of 2020 was that things were going to be back to normal in 2021……….no chance! So, 2021; - on the bike front I had a major clusterfuck with the old TL000S and having gone to the trouble and expense of getting it over to Spain at the end of 2020 and running sweetly the thing had to go back to Blighty to be sold (which it did quickly). Bought a scruffy but fast-as-fuck old CBR600F3 to ease my need for speed. Lastly, the Himalayan soldiers on taking me to places I’ve never been and generally making me laugh out loud every time I ride the thing; it’s slow, heavy and rather noisy in a death rattle kind of way but I can’t bring myself to sell it (yet?) - sold the house at last and the deposit has been paid with completion on 17th January next year. Can’t wait to be gone and it’ll save me doing jail time for my cunt of a neighbour. - father-in-law passed away suddenly which made it awkward for my wife as they hadn’t spoken for over five years. - I catch up with my dad once a week via a video call but I haven’t seen him for nearly two years now. I’ve never been very close to my parents but I feel guilty nonetheless as time seems to be going quickly. - had a vasectomy at the age of 62………seemed like a good idea at the time just like the time I bought a Ducati Multistrada ……….and for 2022, if we can stay healthy, find a nice place to live and spend a bit more time with the people I truly value I’ll settle for that…………and maybe a new bike?

However, my all time favourite was and still is the bad-boy Suzuki TL1000S. Here’s my first one and definitely the best of the three I’ve owned. Man, that’s better than any other twin out there

Got to agree that the old CB1300 was a beauty and I loved my one even if it was a rather dull black.

I’d have @XTreme’s BMW so he couldn’t post pictures of anymore abandoned stuff. I wouldn’t accept any Harley as I couldn’t cope with the shame of it

This pandemic has brought their inner stupidity to the surface .

Someone who I’d count as not quite a friend but a good acquaintance that lives in the village came to my gate today and expected me to let him in. He’s vehemently against the jabs and spouts all sorts of conspiracy theories, he’s persuaded his wife and two adult daughters not have the jabs despite the fact that one has a young child and the other works as a teaching assistant. He stood there as said “well, are you going to let me in then and we can have a beer?” I politely said “no chance, you ain’t had your jabs”…………….he was offended and stomped off.

And a responsible adult in your case @XTreme

This Christmas will be spent eating, drinking and shagging. The first two I can do at home.

Today looking south towards Mazarron from the El Pareton area. Made me feel like Steve McQueen in The Great Escape. -

Sounds about normal for The Den. Some of the stuff that went on was awful; for example, I remember an away day to Bradford and on the way back on the train we pulled into Grantham station and it all kicked off on the platform. The train guard ended up being tied up and locked up inside his own cabin. -
Did the same in the underground works car park. Forgot to take the disc lock off the front and went down like a sack of shit. Immediately jumped up, picked the bike up and made sure nobody had seen it. Went to work the next day and didn’t say a word. Didn’t need to as most people had seen it courtesy of the cctv operator. Didn’t know there was cctv in the car park.
