The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride Is Back for 2021
Skippy replied to Hugh Janus's topic in MOTORCYCLE CHAT
I must admit there were a few pretentious cnuts on the last run but still worth doing it. I, on the other hand, just looked gorgeous ? -
Yes mate, both times on the Murcia City event. A mate of mine and his mate turned up on proper ratty old choppers and they had no problems either. All three of us rode in the front group. ?
-
Well I’ve done it a couple of times on my Himalayan and spoke to the organisers first and they were surprised that I was even asking! ?
-
That’s a shame if that’s the case as it’s a good cause and worth attending if only to see the range of bikes. It’s certainly a more relaxed affair out here.........I mean, they let me in for a start. ?
-
Apparently they have an Old Farts Ride Out as well? A few of us could probably qualify.
-
...........fingers crossed it goes ahead this year. I did the ride out from Murcia city the year before last and it was quite a sight to see. Managed to raised a good chunk of money for the charity too so that was a bonus. Charity aside, it’s still worth going along to the local event and getting to see some very nice bikes.

If someone fancies cleaning the bike and my gear afterwards it could be arranged Pete ?
-
I know I was so lucky! ?. It was the only soggy patch we’d come across the whole day and it looked nice and crusty as I approached it. Served me right for cutting a corner. My mate on his DRZ just stopped in time and nearly fell off laughing. ?
-
I hit the soggy patch at about 20mph so I nearly went over the bars in a Superman style ???
-
Not recently but about two years ago. Stuck fast in wet clay. Couldn’t budge so had to get a local farmer to dig and pull me out with his tractor. He thought it was funny. ????
-
My Mitas enduro tyres grip just fine on the road given the meagre amount of power my Himalayan makes and I’m pretty sure your bike doesn’t make enough to need super sticky tyres Pete. Try something more dirt orientated and you’ll reap the benefits off road whilst still having enough grip on the tarmac. Its all in your head anyway ?????
-
The twat has put up cctv and told all the other neighbours and some other Brits in the village it’s because I’ve been harassing his wife fer fucks sake! He reckons I’ve been staring at her through the wall. Spoke to all my neighbours and he’s made himself look like a proper cunt. Saved me a job. ??
-
Exact-fucking-ly Pete ?
-
Stop moaning, it’s fucking raining here and I can’t be bothered to go out. Instead, I’m doing proper fuck-all for the rest of the day. ?
-
No problem Pete.......and as usual I missed all the action ??
-
I do t post a huge amount but this is one of the better forums in operation so please Pete, if it’s possible, keep it going. If people don’t like the forum then they can easily bow out without making an issue surely?
-
Neither would I if I owned a Chinky Beemer but my Indian Boneshaker is fine. It’s used to being abused.
-
Sorry I’ve misled you thinking about it. The initial service was at 750klms and the oil was changed. At the 5k service it was fine and stayed in until I had it serviced at 11k. I should’ve paid more attention when I was at school. ?
-
Yes mate, when I took it in for its initial 1,000 klm service the mechanic checked the oil and said it was fine and didn’t need changing. Good lad!
-
I must say that when I saw the engine oil from my recent 10,000klm service I was pleasantly surprised. Spoke to the mechanic and he reckons that RE engines are very well built. Some of the other parts of the bike may be a bit shonky but hey, it’s a cheap bike.

-
Ha ha if only that was true! ??

Well once we can get out of Murcia I’ll come over and bother you. ?
