  1. I would be interested in riding the same big trail style bike with both and knowing if I could tell the difference. If you want to buy one just put a deposit down and wait a few months, nothing else you can do. You can always complain for years though, but that won’t get you the bike.
  2. The storm passing by a few days ago reminded me of riding back from Morocco last year, and a bit ago with Sofia in Northern Portugal, I got properly wet both times using my 20 year old rain overalls. Will order some tonight, anyone has any recommendations for rain plastic pants and jacket?
  3. I’ve never ridden either one, but I would buy a Harley if buying a cruiser.
  4. Are you interested in ordering one? Just do it then, you would have got it 6 months ago. This is the same as other manufacturers and parts, nothing works the same as before regarding supply chains. It’s got tubed wheels though, just letting you know.
  5. If you want to buy a new one, just order it and get it 3 or 4 months later, what’s the issue?
  6. What's that? For cycling events?
  7. Gave the GS a little love in form of few new plastic parts, the supports for the luggage were quite worn down, plus a couple of cable holders and the two little rubber stops on which the seat rests. Looking prettier now, wondering if they will look like shit after the first few kms of dirtroad, maybe
  8. It’s certainly not photogenic, but it’s ok in person
  9. Saw one a couple of days ago riding around my town. It’s not gorgeous but it’s not as bad as on the pictures here. Looks like what it is…
  10. This is very interesting. What happened the next day?
  11. Your cousin looks like he drives a truck for a colombian cartel. Hope he hunts for food, does he eat bear?
  12. You’re the birthday boy?
  13. No electrical switches to turn off power in your place? That sounds scary, a little more and that machine could have broken free and killed people.
  14. Tell you what @MooN, for a ride report with not that many pictures, you did post the right ones to get a response
  15. You wouldn’t know a holiday if it hit you in the face!
  16. You think that where you live? You’re trying for more drama! I think this is all a ploy by Pete to try and get out of going out to dinner a couple of times with real people. You’ll go all the way to Spain to hang out in a deserted village for an hour and off you go

Really, a section at the bottom of the forum for this shit. Or a specific thread, call it “stuff to ignore”.
  18. I am not one for big meals at lunch if on a trip, but do enjoy something nice to eat. For mediterranean (including most of France) people, sitting at a table and sharing food and wine is the ideal way to socialize, that changes when you go north. The lack of those dinners is a culture shock for the southern people when travelling and getting to know foreign friends. Then we mistake this lack of comfort meals and breaking bread with being cold and unfriendly.
  19. Oh it’s most certainly a fact that I want wine at the end of a day on the bike. However, in Portugal having wine doesn’t make a meal any more “posh” per se, it’s the culture as I think also is in France, Spain, Italy…
  20. Love the sound, but I do think you’ll get tired of it on long trips.
