  1. I think that's their whole business plan, fixing those bikes and selling parts for them.
  2. Rode to my parents' today, instead of doing it in 2,5 hours on the motorway I took a long way. Left home in 27º heat and sunshine, the kind of sunshine that makes it feel like 35º, stopped for lunch at my favourite cafe forgetting it closes on Mondays. As soon as I crossed the hills and went to the shore temperatures dropped. Back home it was about 32º by lunch time but here, a few kms north as well it was 21º and feeling a bit chill. I did hop on the Motorway for a while to make distance but quickly got off and went to visit Cape Mondego, about halfway between Porto and Lisbon on the shore. The views are more impressive without the mist, this is a place of big beaches: Not a lot of effort put into the stone signaling the status of these forests being declared protected Rode down the nice (in forest and trees, not surface) forest roads closer to the lighthouse, out of my way completely but I like a nice lighthouse. Tried a little dirt road with a view to take a picture of the lighthouse from above, it was only a few meters from the proper road, not a big adventure: From there on, I headed north on pretty lame and boring roads, stopping by the other lighthouse to have a pretty shitty ham and cheese toast for lunch. How someone can fuck up a ham and cheese toast is beyond me, but it can be done. Felt like a trip instead of a commute, balanced the extra mileage with less money on motorway tolls which is always nice.
  3. Pete? 1983 blue riding jacket Pete?
  4. I liked that, have a feeling I walked through part of that when I was in London a few years ago. Who was the disrespectful architectonic genius that came up with broken headstones for stepping stones?
  5. There was a time when you'd take pictures and post them with a little write up in a ride report. I miss that... that made us feel like a serious motorcycle forum
  6. That's just rude and aggressive towards you, and for what it's worth (very little) I wouldn't put the blame on the pole, either. Don't know why your son is like that towards you, but if you can't talk to him to improve things and he doesn't want to be there, it's just a toxic situation.
  7. They're probably a blast on the road
  8. There’s still time, once you start taking the topcase and taking pictures like Pete… Slowly started campaigning early but it’s and endurance race, not a sprint!
  9. Must be pretty serious, and a lot of work! They do that mileage before breakfast!
  10. It’ll completely be worth it!
  11. Shame if they go back before the heat, because that’s one thing they don’t have more of in Poland.
  12. They’re both twats, the polish and the guy, but at least she knows what she wants and is clear about it.
  13. That looks amazing! I’d love a pool in my place.
  14. I met Maria in Germany when her boyfriend at the time was a chief mechanic for XRaid, that builds those Minis and all BMW "derived" offroad race cars, at the time they were building the X5 for the Dakar and bajas like these. I had a nice look around the shop, there were several parts equal to an X5, the indicator and windshield wiper stalks, for example The engine for several applications was based on a road one, though.
  15. What a nice scenery to ride around, I liked that!
  16. It's a figure of speech, Tim, translates to I wouldn't really be all that up for it.
  17. This morning, having slept poorly and as I was putting on my boots to ride up north to my parents', I gave up on it, put on my trainers and went for a walk to try and catch the start of the Baja Oeste, which is 2 or 3km away. Got there in time for the first car about to go out. Had a little walk around, stayed on the less dusty side of the road, and had a look at race cars, I do like race cars. Angry sounding Hilux: The "Minis": A properly loud Ford A very cool Navarra setting off: I didn't take any money with me, which was not clever, it was proper hot and I fancied something cold to drink, there was a sandwich trailer there, and being lunch time a lot of people were starting to tuck into pork sandwiches seasoned with a healthy dose of dust Enough was enough, I was thirsty and hot, so went home: Walked home in what felt like proper heat, felt hotter than it was, maximum for today was supposed to be 32º
  18. No I wouldn't, I wouldn't kill for any drive on any car on the road.
  19. Those fucking trees! All growing together in groups!
  20. Who dislikes forests?
  21. Great looking scenery! The matte black bike seems to suck the light from around it compared to the bright green behind it
