  1. Rode home today, from my parents place up north. I had sort of planned to go on a long 4 or 5 day long ride, but the weather was shit as of yesterday, drove an hour each way yesterday to visit a client and this was the scenery: Lots of accidents on a very rainy motorway which tells me Portuguese people forget how to drive at the first rain, second and third day is not so bad which means all the worse ones crash right away. Didn't fancy touring around in rainy small roads, and also was in quite a shitty mood so just came home for a few days. Took the coastal road which is a lot less interesting than the hills, but I didn't feel like 5 hours of rain and cold. At first, it seemed like nice enough weather but only a few kms into it the fog started and then the rain, my jacket needs to be treated for water repellence, which made me curse Dainese, didn't get wet as the rain was not prolonged though, but also didn't feel like making many photo stops so no ride report. Only one stop for a coffee near a very moody beach: They call this the "Atlantic Road", it's a very epic name for a shitty road, Australia coast of California this is not Stopped for lunch in a little spot that seemed promising but as I was getting set up it started to rain and three cars full of spaniards arrived, next week being Easter they all go on to invade everything. I couldn't take the noisy lot and, eating outside being unappealing, just got back on the bike and rode home closer to home for a nice snack by the river A TDM came and parked next to the GS Got back on the bike before it started to rain again, bought groceries on the way and made it home with a filthy bike, for another expresso as I write this
  2. Nice one Bob, glad to see you riding around.
  3. I was being ironic, or trying to. Making fun of how concerned they are with Ural like if it's not a business same as all the others that are getting banned.
  4. And that doesn't pay bills? Today's internet jobs are a joke, it's all titles and teams and meetings and forwarding shit, eventually all leading to nothing but hype. Even in conventional industries it's all going to shit. Before, you dealt with someone with experience and knowledge responsible for making decisions, now you get forwarded from millennial to millennial with nobody able to make a call, all of them together earning the same thing a single properly experienced person should. Sorry, I'm frustrated by shit.
  5. I don’t get that, clearly security right now means nothing if he’s got to be supported by her family. Earning a proper living should be the priority but I get that he has some issues and believe me when I say I understand working with family is sometimes very taxing on one’s emotional well-being. Not speaking the language though, might make it hard to find something really local.
  6. No interest in employing him for you?
  7. there's something smart about being able to go for a weekend out and carry your stuff where the fuel tank is supposed to be, no external luggage of any kind. Or pop by the grocery on the way home and not carry a plastic bag hanging from your arm. I like that, and the low fuel consumption.
  8. Then you'll get a surprise site to make for an estate agent, feed the donkeys, and go to Baza, but at least it'll be sunny.
  9. I voted for Sofia, I love that part of Portugal and it’s a photogenic bike too, plus it was a nice ride that day. Could have voted for 3 or 4 as there are some nice ones this month, I quite like the CRF with the green fields ahead too.
  10. The Chinese have made it to the Moon!
  11. Funny enough, when I used to ride a bicycle I would love downhills, on the motorcycle I prefer corners uphill too ...
  12. I tested a properly nice one a year or two ago, a real big wheels and suspension mountain bike, wearing jeans and going 25kmh on a slight uphilll, if you've never ridden a normal non assisted bicycle it'll fool you into thinking that's a normal pace. It's like you're spiderman waking up the next morning after being bit by the spider
  13. Maybe the 300 is not that fast?
  14. Actually, although having had roasted baby lamb lots of times, when they're that small and haven't had proper pasture there is no flavor to the meat, it's also got very little texture so not my kind of thing. It's considered a delicacy all over Spain and northern Portugal, though, but the meat does improve a lot after some growth in my opinion. I prefer to eat nice meat that had a chance to live instead of factory farmed. The brains and head (except fish) aren't really a Portuguese thing, though, I've got nothing against eating brain but never have.
  15. Is that what they call a horny female over there?
  16. I like that, lovely roads and views!
