  1. Autumn colours in the kitchen
  2. As a side note, big capacity engines aren't ending, what might be ending is stock bikes with big specific horsepower numbers.
  3. I notice the difference in prices, obviously, at putting in 25 liters at a time it shows. My joke was that it it does have autonomy so I forget about the cost and just enjoy it. I bought my bike for touring with a passenger, for that I do think the torque of a big bike is ideal, and carrying loads it's not necessarily less economical than a smaller bike. If I was restricted to 1000 then I would get a 1000, I wouldn't cry over it nor would it be the end of the world, but I would rather have mine. In fact, If BMW made a boxer 1000cc I would go and ride one to see how it would be, as a solo rider now I think it would be really cool.
  4. I would appreciate cheaper gas prices for sure, but my 1200 uses less than 5 lt/100km, if I ride normally and stay out of motorways it's got enough of a fuel range that I forget about gas prices between fill ups It'll take a while for me to consider exceptionally low fuel consumption as something that draws me to a bike, however, high fuel consumption does make me turn away from one, that has always been the case.
  5. They must be easy to spot amongst the fields

    Black Days!

9/11, was at school finishing lunch, someone turned the cafeteria’s tv to see the news and saw the second plane hit the towers while people still thought the first one was accidental.
  7. I like the landscape that you find “following your nose”. That does look like they serve food brought made from elsewhere, and a biker Sunday morning only thing to me.
  8. Nice area to ride for sure, roads look great!
  9. Mine's got the spoked wheels, smart ass!
  10. Hey @boboneleg, if you´re in the neighborhood and fancy popping by, I might show you around a couple of nice roads. Although, bring sport touring tires on the Tenere, one needs a level playing field.
  11. Shit, @Sir Fallsalot, 11 hours on muddy trails? Did you loose a bet or join the foreign legion? I rode the GS around very local streets to dry it out after washing, took 20 minutes
  12. If you ever get sick of abandoned farms, you can start visiting sewer treatment plants, they're proper stinky too
  13. My plan to wash the bike didn't go according to plan. I had a little more work in the afternoon and forgot I had ran out of bike washing liquid, so went to buy it, but of course riding the bike got hot and it feels not ok to wash a hot engine, will probably be left for tomorrow. Spent a big part of the day on the phone but feel like I've done nothing.
  14. You gain nothing on going full at it on the weekend. I have learned to continue asking clients for questions, over and over if needed, simplifying requests until there is no chance of a misunderstanding.
  15. You know, some people procrastinate when asking for stuff like that and leave it to when they feel is the last time, and usually that happens to be the end of the week. Just leave it to monday, two days isn't much and enjoy a day off.
  16. Well, I could start taking pictures of the ugly buildings too, but the ride reports wouldn't look as nice...
  17. I hope you have fun over the return trip, Erich, up until now it sounds like a couple of days of suffering.
  18. relaxing while working until now, after lunch I might wash the bike and go for a short ride to dry it properly, as the weather is very nice. Later having dinner with my neighbors, and tomorrow going for a short ride around, maybe.
  19. October 2016 or 2017, coming back from Morocco: night time, tired, hungry and cold arriving in Lisbon in the rain, my more than half worn Heidenau K60 on a loaded bike letting me know at every motorway offramp and expansion joint why they are known to be shit in the rain. I swear I thought we were going down every time I had to put the slightest amount of lean into a corner.
  20. True, but on the other hand there are no pictures of me pissing, either I am sure he was a proper down to earth bloke, Ian, it's just these monks sucking up to him
