It's not like there was a lack of windmills in that street...

@Sir Fallsalot's Africa Twin for me, that road is what motorcycling is all about to me.

I took a seat on an R18 the other day, and completely agree that it hides it's weight very well, it has ridiculously low ground clearance and lean angle though. As far as I'm concerned I would take a Harley over one any day. Also my legs were a little cramped, which is not cool on such a bike. I am curious about looking at a Harley Pan America in person, the looks are growing on me. I am not one for black bikes as they're so hard to keep looking nice, but that one looks amazing. I might have missunderstood, @Slowlycatchymonkey, but did that guy with the FJR ride holding that full glass of beer? If so, that's really impressive.

Mine is it was so big I should have named it before launching it to the waters

I don’t even know if you can cope with one of those for trail riding if you have the shield closed.

I bet, the helmet noise is a lot different, maybe a modern dualsport helmet would have helped him

I wear plugs whenever I’m on a longish ride or on the motorway. Tinnitus scares the shit out of me.
-
That’s too bad, tinnitus is a bitch. They used to ride together didn’t they? A lot of things aren’t the same if done leaving your better half behind.

Are you on the wine, Bob? That’s usually my gig!

I like it, if it's got really big torque it'll be a nice more comfy and touring alternative to a Superduke. -
This reminds me of the first time I saw a KTM950S in person, I read how tall they were and first saw one on the Nurburgring, with a normal looking dude stoping and getting off it with both his feet on the ground and legs even slightly bent, then he walked away from the bike and towards where I was, and by the time he walked past us suddenly he looked a whole lot taller than he did in the distance.
-
It looks smaller, but my first question is how tall that guy is, it might be dwarfed by a 210cm tall german test rider

70mpg might be possible if really trying, like you're saying, but what really impresses me is how easy it is to get 60 and all you have to do is not go on motorways. My previous bike, the 1150gs also did close to 60 in Morocco, always with a passenger and never on motorways.

Yes, it's Rocha, which means rock or boulder. Roche means the same in french.

That's good for the skin

I agree, you wash it off on the ocean, though.

Portugal seems to be getting worse, a little worse overall and a lot worse in Lisbon and surrounding area. Saying that, they're now evaluating stopping the deconfinement measures, because apparently Lisbon is all that matters for politicians. They're doing that while delaying confinement orders for Lisbon, any other area of the country with the same numbers would have been shut two weeks ago. Having said that, I'll be getting my first jab tomorrow. I'll be sure to ask if they can give me the one that makes it possible to travel back in time, or if not, the one that lets me speak to the big beast ... I am hoping to go for a proper ride next week or the one after, summer is here and I'm jonesing for some quality time on the bike, followed by a couple of days at the beach.

Those were/are used to store corn and other grains while they dry while keeping them safe from rodents. -

Touring on small country roads my bike is good for up to 60mpg. It doesn’t really care if I’m carrying luggage or not, and riding sporty doesn’t really affect it much either. Carrying a passenger also didn’t seem to affect it, but I was more gentle if with a passenger. However, motorways that goes to between 45 to 40mpg.

I liked that. Your XR must be on quite a respectable mileage by now

I don't know ... some pretty great return rates

I like that. Did you ever carry a flask or did it start with covid? Are you going more or less gay with your next tires, Bob?
