  1. Those look small, though. I once drove next to a big one running at full speed on an open field, slowed the car to his speed and guessed he was doing between 50 to 60kmh of sustained speed, after a minute he turned to the road and I accelerated, but still remember he was impressively fast. Like the storm pictures, too...
  2. No, you wouldn't find that in a supermarket, only on a good fish monger, and I wouldn't know how to cook them properly. However, I see you saved that as something which has interested you, which means I've saved a soul
  3. This is the max I´ve carried from the Supermarket on both panniers, not including the fan
  4. I don't have a road legal car at the moment in my place, it's up north in my parent's, but the GS has plenty of storage with both sidecases.
  5. Don't do it like me: I load beer, wine and canned goods, which are very heavy, all on one sidecase. I then load fruit, vegetables and bread, which is very light, all on the other sidecase. I then get surprised when I get home and the bike tries to topple onto me while maneuvering inside my own garage It didn't fall down, though, but did catch me by surprise
  6. Fitting it on a fairing would make for a lot cleaner installation, no wires out and flapping, and just a neat little round plug. Also, you wouldn't be pulling the wires of the chargers with every right turn of the handlebars, which makes for a longer wire than you need for the straights flapping about at higher speeds. My bike has a usb port next to the instruments and I use it to charge my mobile which is on the handlebars, I don't like it as you have the plug in a fixed location and the device moving about with the steering. For niceness, either have the plug and device both fixed with the bike, or both moving together, or maybe I'm just over complicating it. I know that on my previous bike I had a tank bag and a fixed plug, and it all worked better.
  7. I would love it if I was to stop for a refreshment at my favourite hilltop cafe to find a bunch of motorcycles parked with just women there hanging out. Frustratingly, it just doesn't happen ...
  8. We did have a couple of episodes of actual verbal tourettes but fortunately none on motorcycling
  9. The Alentejo is an amazing area to ride through, instantly the weather is warmer or just nicer, the views expand your horizons, and the food is amazing! The smells are also make me think of adventure, sort of Africa in the air. The roads you'll find in the Algarve, tucked in the hills, are the best you'll find if you're into scenery and small and narrow twisty roads. It's a hidden secret so don't go blabbing about it, or next thing everyone will be trying to get out of the N2 touristy route and paradise will be spoiled.
  10. Some of the roads in this section surprised me, more fun than I thought, sadly the weather was a bit crap. I did like the little blast on the Speed Triple, though, feels tiny compared to the normal sized bike I ride.
  11. This is a great region to ride a motorcycle, if you stick to the smaller roads in my opinion. All the food was tasty, the views were pretty, Penedo Durão has one of my two favourite scenic views in Portugal, the other is on the third installment of Sofia's report. I have nothing more to add to this.
  12. Pedro

    Pedro's food

I have to say, that' was proper tasty cake!
  13. A holiday in the uk, at least you're a good example, shame the other ones don't follow , why don't you lie and say it's going great?
  14. I quite doubt that. Discerning isn't what comes to mind to describe someone that searches for a full english breakfast while still drunk before going to the beach at over 30º. I am not in the Algarve, though, so quite far away from that nightmare scenario, but am indeed in fear of the COVID boom that comes from tourists on holiday.
  15. Started The Three Musketeers, got into the third line and fell asleep, then went on a motorcycle ride, and three weeks later just realized I left the book at home, I'll pick it up within less than a week from now. It might take a while at this pace...
  16. The GS's toolkit only has three or four things, but then again most screws you'll see from far away are the same T25 head, and there is no chain to adjust. Apart from that they would be fooling you if you think you could fix it with an under seat toolkit. I still have a pletora of all necessary bits and those thing they attach to (second/third language ) in a plastic roll in a sidecar if it comes to be...
  17. Well, I was going to write I am happily drinking myself to sleep when I read that @MooN is having real health and work problems ... so now I´m feeling guilty... hang in there Chris, just know that you are appreciated, at least here. I know you push yourself and appreciate your job but if you are unable to move you won't be of use to yourself or be able to enjoy being off work. Pace yourself! So, I have just finished drinking this very unassuming and simple white grown 20km away, bought today from a lady that owns a wine farm that has pet sheep, got to love that.
  18. It probably was, it was around Serra da Estrela Today, on a vineyard entrance
  19. Went home for the first time in ages, stopping by my favourite hilltop cafe, bikers were quite happy to be allowed out. I left as they started to arrive: Then stopped by a local vineyard to try a few bottles of local wines: The bike was properly dirty, gave it a wash and rode it dry:
