I am sorry @Richzx6r, I do speak the language fluently and wouldn´t mind helping out, but I´ll make no plans at the moment. Either covid is still fucking us and I'll be locked in and going nowhere miserably, or covid will let us breathe and in September I'll be busy with work at the beginning of the month and then heading to Morocco on the third or fourth week. On a trip perspective, I do advise you to skip the airplane, the trip there and back will be memorable if you take an extra day each way to visit the Picos and a couple of Pyrenees passes. If Spain is not under house arrest, being a single guy I would spend a night in Bilbao as well, and go drink some beers and each some pinchos. The weather on northern Spain can be shit on late September though, but I imagine that doesn't matter to a brit?

The love is there. It's the BMW on a wide open dirt road and blue sky, they made me do it
-
That’s also true, starting with the “playing outside” part
-
This isn’t memory lane, @Tym, you have a great chance for February’s BOTM, with a current picture.
-
"as far as I can see" proving my theory.
-
That's because you take sad pictures. Until now.

I have no trust in myself to venture somewhere out of the way in a bike put together by me. I tried doing that to the XR a while ago and the poor thing sat in the garage for ages half torn apart. Plus, the GS is the bike for me to tour on. I have thought of something more offroady for Morocco, but I just couldn't leave my bike in the garage on this next trip.

I see what you did there! So, this vote will be closed tomorrow night, GMT. Just thought I'd say so in case you wish to change it again ...
-
That is not how I feel about time. I seem to have this pending sense of doom and need to have something to look forward to.

This the month Pete got a vote, and on top of it also wins? That's a turn around for sure, all he had to do was post a picture with the sun on the correct side of the bike and nice scenery, who would have guessed! Not many people voting, though?

Here it is in English, if you want to see what's happening in my corner of the world: I think we are truly fucked, and getting worse daily. I had the intention of doing one of two big trips this year, one to Morocco / Mauritania and one somewhere new, and now selfishly think it'll not be very likely ?
-
Was that you feeling homesick?
-
You're not supposed to carry it about, throw it in a street bin. Also, what kind of people like to have their local sidewalks with yesterday's turds for them to step on?
-
WTF, is that because they only pick it up if they are embarrassed to be seen walking away by lots of people on the street?
-
My vote goes for Alalfa's bike, I just love the road and the sky, man I need lockdown and winter to go away!

So, although the world conspires against the BOTM events, we did manage to get a few cool entries for BOTM. Feast your eyes on this! We´ve got: @alfalfa's BMW R1200GSA, "Flames", on a Californian dirt road in the US @Grasshopper's Ride's Royal Enfield Himalayan, "Bagheera" on a lush British Columbia forest, in Canada @Pedro's BMW R1200GSA on a green meadow in Portugal @Skippy's Royal Enfield Himalayan on a sunny ride in Southern Spain @Tym's moped, "Loosenuts", hanging from a tree in the US @XTreme's BMW G650GS out on a chilly ride in Spain

Usually places with narrow paths have higher wagons because they need to place the wheels below the carriage instead of on the side.

Another post gave this idea, since we should have very different experiences regarding this. So, first ever time on a bike was around the parking lot of a hotel in Lisbon, my dad took me there on a dudes' weekend when I was around 8 or 9 to go see the F1 at the Estoril track, this was around 1988 to 1990. A friend of his took me around the parking lot on his Virago XV250 sitting up front, I loved it and still remember it. I hate that guy now, but that is besides the point. As a teenager, and this will maybe be a little weird to a lot of you ancient people, I then rode pillion with my foreign girlfriend at the time on her cousin's DTR125, borrowed on a stay here. She was a little older and rode a motorcycle at home. Around that time, first time to ever ride alone was on a friend's Gilera Typhoon 50, plastic panels rattled and came apart every time it went over a tiny bump on the road , looked a lot rattier than this: Took my motorcycle classes and exam on a TW225 And then bought my first bike a year after starting to work, at around 22 or 23, a Transalp 650

That's pretty wild, there! All of that is exactly what I think England is like!
-
So, first of all, the UK strain is what infects 80% of portuguese positive cases today, brexit isn't working! On other news, they are at long last controlling the entries to the country on land borders. There are a few camper vans on the Spanish side of the border that are pretty disappointed with this, camper van free spirited covid denier twats have been spreading this shit around non stop ever since covid started. Dutch, UK, german, swedish plates don't seem to be on lockdown or stopped by the police until now, only the dumb portuguese I mean, how can a foreign plated caravan or camper with surfboards on top ever justify being on the road here when the police stops locals and ask them for going to work declarations?

It does work, but you can dry and salt meat and fish to preserve without the vinegar part, and once cooked, rehydrated or not, you get a lot of the original flavors. With the vinegar it turns into something very different, but it's normal for me to don't really get a scandinavian food.
-
What a beautiful shop!
-
I had to google what lutefisk is, I like codfish a lot, but so far have really disliked most scandinavian things I've eaten. That is some sort of pickled fish and it's not my thing, preserves from the north tend to be too vinegary for my taste.. I would try it, though, not trying new things makes one stupid.

Also, they have helicopters chasing speeders in Spain now
