I have to get proper winter pants and boots, whenever I see your reports and you enjoying yourself over in the wintery north I remind what a miserable time I would have

I’ll let you guys know I’m pretty confident about my submission ...

There's no reason to do that unless that's your yearly mileage

BMW G 310 R Gets Euro 5 Compliance and Additional Features
Pedro replied to Hugh Janus's topic in MOTORCYCLE CHAT
There are plenty of 250s and 400s I like, it's not a matter of engine size or power. This specific GS310 just feels low quality and uninspiring in person, it feels like a chinese bike in person. -
No body shaming, Pete! She's just got big bones.

I like the Fonzie "hey" at the end

Waking up took me a while, I planned on a long ride but ended up only left the house by 10, that doesn't give a lot of time before the lockdown at 13, so I just went to the Douro, and had a cup of coffee there. I don't spend many weekends here, but this is where a lot of bikers come for a short weekend morning ride, they meet up at the marina's cafe before riding back, it's only about 25 or 30km to Porto via a twisty road. This is a cool road they ride but on weekends it's just too much lazy traffic, too many bikes too. I chose to keep to a smaller cafe with almost nobody there instead of joining the mob, social distancing comes very natural to my reserved ways. On the other side of that river, right to the red cafe is where all the bikes are, maybe you can see them if you're able to zoom in. They were making themselves heard from this side as everyone that arrived seemed to have a stuck throttle Going back I avoided the busy road, but my plan was to explore a "Serra" that I had been curious about for some time, Serra da Boneca was my stop on the way back home. The dirt roads getting to the more scenic spots were all closed, I don't really know why, I expected the road to get a lot steeper so I walked the last 100 or 200 meters. Turns out the steeper bit was exactly where they put the gate, which isn't cool . It was quite windy up there, quite nippy too, but the views were nice. Got back home in time to buy some bread before the lockdown. Gave the bike a wipe before lunch, meant to wash it properly but I don't like washing it without being able to ride it warm and dry after, this bike hides water poodled inside like it's magic.

I don't understand why anyone would get excited about that 310, regardless of weight. -
Had a nice ride in the morning, went to the Douro for a coffee. Nice weather today, will post a report with just a couple of pictures.

Some days I don't really feel like being a part of the world, or that indeed it doesn't deserve to exist, however most people that feel this way don't wish others to go through the same feelings. It's a tough way to exist. Covid being blown out of proportion or not, I think depends on where you live or spend most of your time. If he lives somewhere quiet that has yet to be seriously affected, or doesn't speak to people who are affected, I can see why he thinks it's blown out of proportion.

The Leg does have some pull when it comes to bending rules, but I doubt @boboneleg would go for it, @XTreme
-
I will think about it in two or three months, @Earache, but don´t let me hold you back for one second as I´ll probably not go for it. I´m tempted but think it´s both too much milleage per day for me to enjoy the views like I´d like to being my first time in the USA, plus also regardless of how tempted I am I just can´t bring myself to go for anything right now, just not in the right spirits.
-
Go for it, @Tym, it doesn´t bother me, it was just a joke.

He's saying you are all wusses, in his own way, because he'd ride twice as quick ...

It's like watching my bike ride off: It's quite good on tight corners by itself too, but I see BMW has fitted better crash bars to the engine ...

I am going to look at this on google maps, tomorrow when I'm sober. I'd like to, but so far there are too many unknowns regarding current work situation and next year's projects. Apart from all of that there is the covid situation, what month are you considering to do this? What would be the best airport to fly to?

You think riding is exciting? Let’s try sitting in the back seat and see the bike steering you past slower traffic! Now that takes balls!

@XTreme seems to have missed the point of this thread, next he’ll be taking his bike’s dials and taking a picture with them from his couch

Mine will probably be this one, overlooking the hills of Montejunto, on @yen_powell’s suggestion: Feel free to change your submissions without deleting the previous ones by posting a replacement picture, I’ll just go through the thread from end to start.

Only at night on weekdays, and afternoons on weekends. But yes. Thing is, there are a lot of exceptions here in Portugal, you can walk your dogs, exercise, go to work, visit relatives in need of help, etc, even travel during lockdown if you have a letter from your employer stating you're working.
-
You can't leave home except to work, exercise or walk dogs. What is enforced is traffic between councils. This goes for almost all regions, and has been going for a week now. This is in place from 11PM to 5AM on weekdays, and from 1PM to 5AM on weekends.
