  1. I do like a competent chassis and fuel injection. Character doesn't need to die, you can still have twin cylinder bikes and buy bikes with no gear change assistance and riding modes and stuff like that, but why would you choose to have worst suspension or brakes just because? It's like choosing to buy shit tires and brake pads just to make it more of a challenge.
  2. Penicillin is usually the answer for pins and needles on your bell end.
  3. for more or less the same theoretical acceleration times, 12 seconds on a 70s bike is going to feel a lot more aggressive than 12 seconds on a 2000's bike. It's like riding at over 150kmh with a poorly fitting crap old helmet, and a brand new properly fitting Shoei, speed is the same, feels a little different.
  4. See this picture, this the Baia de Espinho, my hometown: I never go to the beach in this spot because it's too crowded. Nowadays, if you walk the walkways at night you have a nice view of the beach, courtesy of some spotlights, like on the picture above. These spotlights were first turned on (first time, ever) around 18 or 19 years ago, at around 10 or 11pm on a summer friday night, while me and my girlfriend were getting out of the water, naked. Made it easier to find our clothes, though. Edit: it's the Atlantic, cold water
  5. First time I drank whiskey was on the lower deck of a school trip bus when I was 15, downed half a bottle of something like it was nothing. I then proceeded to throw up on a paper basket (a weave paper basket) while I walked around the bus.
  6. Looks like a gravity racer, have always been interested in having one.
  7. Well, either Wednesday or Thursday I’m riding down to Ericeira for dinner, then home for two or four nights. I am missing my little corner. No amazing pictures because I have posted about most of it already, except a couple just to make jealous.
  8. Yes, but I don't like to spread my butter too thin. During the week I hardly ever ride, and can't have more than 1 bike available here up north. On the weekend, I don't need another two bikes next to an already stopped XR400. I'm in love with my GS, and to be honest I can't think that I would ride any other bike when this one is parked in the same garage. Even the thumper, I would like to go to Morocco with something lighter and better offroad, but still want to go on the GS on the next trip, so... I think of buying bikes when I'm bored at home, but honestly think I would hardly ride them.
  9. Well, that either worked great because she got euphoric to be alive, or terrible if she thinks you almost got her killed.
  10. I’ve been thinking of a Moto Guzzi roadster sort of bike for months, or a bigger 600 thumper for Morocco offroad ...
  11. They’re stinky, though ...
  12. I got worried for a moment
  13. Pete, do you paint the letters on your tires?
  14. I have no problem with Jetskis per se, but same as motorcycles a twat can ruin any place where people are just trying to enjoy a quiet moment. You can blast the water as hard as you want and enjoy yourself, but when you're just doing doughnuts on the water for 15 minutes at a time and not moving more than 50m away from the waterside cafe, you're a twat. You're also a twat when you start your bike for 5 minutes before leaving said cafe and never stop revving it through that time, or arrive causing exhaust explosions with your cut off switch, you're the same twat no matter what vehicle you chose to enjoy. Hell, a twat can even ruin that same quiet place without any kind of noisy vehicle, just by arriving on foot ?
  15. Yeah, creeps take care of their stolen goods a lot better than they do in Europe...LOL

    Lake Negratin

If I was carrying a 50liter top case on a ride to a lake on a hot summer day, better believe there would be a cold drink and a beach towel inside. That looks great for a swim.
  17. LOL, I was asking what year was the Sportster on Tym's picture. But that video of the old school chopper kicking RR ass is still awesome ?
  18. @Tym, love that! What year was it?
  19. Sure will, Pete. Count on it.
  20. I know, Pete. Myself, I was looking forward to two or three big rides this year: June, warm souther Portugal ride to the Algarve for a week on the beach for my birthday. August, maybe Algarve, maybe south of Spain. I've got a friend in Murcia who promised a good paella and a couple e great local tapas when I visit. Late September / Early October, Morocco, I've been gathering courage to go back but am unsure if this is the year I'll be able to go. Renewing my passport anyway.
  21. Everyone here is anticipating if the government is going to lift a few of the restraints on the weekend. Things is, we've avoided the great mortality hit Spain has taken but as such have yet to get a drop in mortality as it seems that by avoiding quick high mortality you're just spreading the same amount of butter on a bigger slice of bread. I am about to go insane, and go out and start kissing random people on the street.
  22. That’s the kind of off-roading I enjoy on the GS, Pete. Nice and easy, and hardly gets your bike dirty.
