They're fine. They're a warm bike depending on wind protection, but a Harley will be much worse in hot weather on account of the huge air cooled engine. People claim that Ducatis and KTMs give out more engine heat too, which isn't surprising considering the power they can make. What gives off serious heat sometimes, on a modern BMW flat twin, is the catalyst. That will sometimes roast your right foot. Forget about the silly cruiser, if you want to try a proper BMW try a GS or an RT on proper roads, like it or hate it but that's what BMW bikes are about.

Ugly. Ugly marketing.

Bike got dropped getting out of the rental van!

I would love to leave my bike parked in their garages for a week. Pick it up looking like 6 years ago!

Da fuck? This thread is gone to shit! Quick, @YamaHead, save it!

Stopping by “my local” on the way home, for a coffee and a drink, right now sign says: unbelievably, it’s all true!

Flaws appear from old age as well. They did my brother’s E39 and that was even older. Back then airbags were a new technology.

I've got a better jacket for winter. This would be for 20 to 25º and over, including proper heat.

Motocross and trials is the only use I can see electric being good. It's not like you can ride a motocross bike on a proper track for 1 hour.

If they're sizing them like that, I'll search their website for a conversion table and then risk it. You'd say they're less slim than Dainese then?

I had a diary for that stuff back in the days of driving on track. It's really easy to get lost if you're not meticulous. I was remembered of that on the GS, with the new suspension I started tinkering with it and initially I kept notes, but then forgot to and after a couple more adjustments I was lost and didn't remember the sweet spot. Now I just have it softer like I put it in Morocco to go off-road and left it like that regardless, it gets a big wavy and feels like a boat on rough seas when going proper fast, but there you go.

Has anyone reached out to @Tym?

Tires usually feel like shit at the end of their life, so why ruin a 3000km trip which can have plenty of rain? Change them now. Having said that, 12000km on a very heavy powerful bike like that, including motorway at higher speeds, that's very good. Of course you get that because you don't get high temperatures. Here, tarmac changes a lot from country to country and some tire brands are better than others according to country, and more so when it rains. In France and Portugal's backroads, apparently Michelin is the thing to have for grip in the rain.

The forum is fluid, but maybe let’s try and keep these two threads more about Pete?

Play with it, 3 or 4 at a time to really feel the difference. But write it down to not get lost. Do they have low and high speed damping, or just low?

Aren’t cruisers low to the ground? That bike looks quite tall in the picture!

Great views! Lovely food too, but 44€ for a bottle of wine is murderous!!! I’d rather have a burger too at those prices! I am spoiled though, nice wine is quite cheap here if you compare to the rest of Europe. Nice RT, too, I’m in a love affair with RTs. I keep telling myself they’re less good for twisty roads than a GS, not dirtroad friendly, less seat to foot peg space, but they just look really nice to me. Pete would never make it rain, though. Maybe he was just having a pee

Dressing for the rain and cold is easier than the heat.
