  1. That was you being kind to him? Had to look Adenoidal up, learned a new word today! In my fantasy it would be a white or black single seat R50, 60 or 69S.
  2. I suppose they're ok if you stay out of the more modern faster roads and keep to those 40 to 60mph "period" speeds? I sometimes think about flying to Italy or Germany and pick up an old bike to ride back home on back roads. My lack of real mechanical ability kind of doesn't match that fantasy though.
  3. Nothing wrong with getting to know people, someone can always turn your plans upside down and that's just great. A single mother deserves respect, but she's also not innocent and gullible. There's something to be said for having good honest fun instead of always thinking too far ahead and avoiding drama that hasn't presented itself.
  4. That's one great looking travel bike!
  5. Even the chinese put tubeless spoked wheels on bikes, what's taking Yamaha and Suzuki so long?
  6. Like politics, leave something be and in 50 years it goes back to being in fashion.
  7. 850 for tires for a bicycle? They're more than motorcycle tires?
  8. You think it is very overpriced?
  9. Went to the supermarket today, from my place. Weather was nice in the morning so took Maria's car as it has been sitting for a couple of months and went to a supermarket a little farther than the local town, started first thing too. Empty streets on a sunday morning.
  10. It’s an E21. I love when he creates a pause to announce in about …. 5 hours time. He’s such a … twat.
  11. This one is a man made lake, for water to be used for farming. It has a big dam which can be opened. 100/150km away the Algarve is in severe draught though.
  12. Not really worth of a ride report, but yesterday met up with @Sofia in Alentejo by the big lake. Pleasant enough to be on the bike on the way there. Waiting for her to show up since we were coming from different places: and presto! Alqueva lake is at the absolute maximum level of water I've ever seen it, I doubt it has ever gone as high before. We left the Triumph for a little and I took her on the GS through an easy trail near the water, I think the bug to ride a trail bike has bitten... there might be a video later of that. Today we rode back home, except the majority of the ride was under quite heavy rain, my phone safe in my pocket and under my rain pants mean there's no pictures of it, but quite the amount of water came down. All warm and dry at home with my jacket still dripping down a bit.
  13. It would be, but I’m planning to sleep in the hills near the trail entrance, to then do the interesting bit in the morning or when fog disappears and then make it to Milan for dinner, taking smaller roads or the motorway depending on how the day goes.
  14. Don’t have any pictures of the rain, my phone was safe in my pocket under the rain pants. Will post a couple of pics but they’re all of yesterday and it was more or less sunny so nobody will believe me
  15. Why does the proper botm thread gets closed and this doesn’t?
  16. Doesn’t it make sense to use more assist, and then push as hard as normal but going twice as fast for the same effort?
  17. You sound like a discerning person, welcome!
  18. I was going to post about how much it rained riding the 200kms home today after meeting up with Sofia in Alentejo, no point now
  19. Almost being the main focus of that sentence.
  20. Heavy yes, slow and ponderous maybe, but ugly they are not. Particularly the ST, an unfaired one would look gorgeous with this paintwork.
  21. You got two, big day for you is it?
  22. Congratulations @boboneleg Seems everyone forgot…
  23. I’ll have it dialed in next week. I need to look at maps of the Via del Sale to figure out where it really is in real life, then I figure one day to get to your area to there and one from there to Milan.
