I am fitting a centre stand but just cannot get the spring on. I am just not able to stretch it far enough to get it on. I have tried loads of different levers but just can’t get it over. I have also tried putting coins in the coils to lengthen it but I am still 20mm short of getting it over. I am starting to think I have the wrong size spring. Now I will confess it is not a genuine Honda stand so I am getting pay back for being a tight ass but any constructive advice would be appreciated. I have attached a photo but I don’t think the perspective helps. The spring is about 20mm short of going over it’s tang.

Been out and got her some flowers this morning, she's not up yet so hopefully they will reduce the scowl when she emerges

To be honest I am very pleased with the main stand, looks decent quality and powder coated. I was expecting to have to paint it when it came but it looks pretty good as is. The screen looks just like my mates Puig, the handgards are okish but will be functional. Obviously not as good as the Givi ones but will work. I put some pictures up when I have fitted them.

I ordered a few bits for my CB and they turned up today. Hand guards, screen and main stand. Let the farkeling begin in the morning. Have to be careful though as it is the Mrs's 59th Birthday tomorrow so have to make sure she is happy before playing bikes.

There is a good old fashion fix it shop near me that I intend to use in the future once the guarantee on my bike is up. Lots of my mates go there. Polar opposite to Dameralls. Not putting Dameralls down they are good as gold but big and corporate, Colin Flashman's is proper old school, they fix anything and do not rip you off. https://www.flashmanmotorcycles.co.uk/

I work weekends, today is one of my days off, hence having a bit of YouTube time.

Just mooching around the show room while they are fitting heated grips to my CB. Loads of bikes here as usual, several sold waiting for their 23 plate. My old Himalayan is in the showroom but no price tag on it yet. I do like the look of the Honda NCT 1100 tourers they have here. I would never buy one but they do look good. Also like the couple of Africa Twins they have as well as a nice Yam XSR.

I was wondering when yours would arrive. Looking forward to see how you are going to get on with it.

I like them mate but unfortunately they don't like me and are causing me some health issues. I don't want to change but have been told it would be a good idea for me to do so, not a good idea to ignore the docs advice.

Emailed my Boss today telling him I want to give up overnight working, and asked if I can work evenings and days. Gonna be an interesting week I think.

Yeah I don't really know to much about them, I used to like the old GS550 and have a soft spot for a GS1000E but never lived with either. I remember that I didn't like the Katana looks when they came out but it has grown on me over the years. What didn't you like about it Pete.

Your mates CB looks like a toy next to your GS. Mind you I was next to a Keeway ADV type 125 today and that was taller than my CB. I like the fact the CB feels like a 125 with a normal size engine in it.

Worked Friday night, had last night off to sing with my choir and had a blast. Our first concert back with our new Musical Director, went very well I thought. Even managed my solo piece without and feck ups. Bit fragile today, first time I have been to the pub for awhile. Back to work tonight. My weekend in a few sentences.

Cornwall is very much like Wales in many ways. Only everything here is pretty close to the sea, so most of us have webbed feet out of necessity

Why not just take the sign down? They temporarily closed our hospital down 6 years ago but just leave the sign blanked out.

Been out with the Dear Boy this morning. Normal loop for me but murky misty out there so I tried to take some different shots for a changeI always fancied this house as it is the old Trenant farmhouse and barn conversion. Lovely about half a mile from the main road but in your own little Vally. This muddy set of steps has always been called Jacobs Ladder which I suppose is a reference to the hymn of the same nameA couple of interested faces this morning looking warm a cosy on a chilly morning I always enjoy that the Saint’s Way goes right through the middle of Tregaminion farm. Proper old school farmyard. We stopped and had a mooch around the tiny Tregaminion Church. It’s gonna be beautiful there soon when the Snowdrops and Daffodils show their heads. We then walked past the gate house/lodge to Menabilly House. We disturbed a few pheasants but on the hen stayed to stare at us. Then on to our old stomping ground of Polridmouth beach the Dear Boys happy place and home. 8k in total and it was good to be out again after 8 days of unwanted rest.

Yeah and that can't be emphasised enough for me. I spent years messing with my latest two wheeled PIA to keep it going, until I got into BMW's of course. Not really they had their issues as well. Just nice to have something quite new and unmolested that still has a guarantee. I love that my only input is to ride it. Funnily enough when I got back today I was washing my bike off and my boy turns up with his mate who has an issue with his clutch. Had a quick look and he had adjusted it so much that it wasn't releasing fully. Showed him how to adjust it so he has 2-3mm slack at the lever and all was good. I have feeling Morgan the Moron (as my unkind son calls him) will be back again soon.

Never had a problem with mine

I have asked the Mrs and its was confiscated by the primary school years ago. Little bits was running around trying to chop the boys with it, luckily it was only made of pine wood, apparently I wasn't told as Little Bits was worried I would have told her off. When the viking project was over she was only allowed to bring the shield home, if we wanted the axe back one of us had to go get it. Only found that out today

Always wet here mate tis February This is going to sound a bit sappy but I absolutely love the CB, it's so easy to live with. I can flat foot it everywhere which is not something I have been able to do on most of the bikes I have had over the years. It's torquey and happy to mooch around at low revs or you can drop a couple and its flying (well fast enough for me anyway). Clutch is light and the gearbox is sweet. The handling is very good, I can't see me needing anything different for everyday riding it's perfect for where I live and my riding style. Also very pleased with the quality of it, feels very well made and screwed together. You know I am a geek and think long and hard before I do anything which was no different in this case. I wanted a NC750X or CB500X to start with but the CB500F is a better fit for me. I even contemplated waiting to get a CL500 but the CB500F just felt a perfect fit so waited for the right one to come along second hand as new are like hens teeth at the moment. Plus buying a year old 1100 mile one saved me the best part of £1600. Didn't take long as its new reg season so mine came in hardly touched. I can see we are going to be very happy together. .
