Been out for another Bimble today but with the Hornet this time with my new pillion. About 80 miles or so again. Went up to Chequered Flag but they don’t open on a Tuesday so we went on to Kit hill for a coffee then a blast back down the Liskeard by pass. Good to give the Hornet a run, first time for a month or so. Lovely this morning but could feel the temperature dropping as we came back. Chequered Flag Gotta stop looking at that GS1000G. Want it but can’t afford it Kitt Hill looking over the Tamar Valley

I am sure as long if all was good you would never see the other side of them. They do have a pretty bad rep down here though. I only know one story first had but have heard plenty over time. Glad it went well for you.

It’s a 2012, you can just see the plate . I wouldn’t be seen dead on the thing but I do like the paint, very cool IMHO.

I heard nothing but good stuff about them Skip. Nathanthepostman likes them and he knows his stuff when it comes to smaller dirt bikes.

Jumped at the chance of a bimble around North Cornwall today. Only about 80 miles but I was going stir crazy having not ridden for 5 days so it was just good to get out. First stop was at St Thomas just below Launceston Castle beside the River Kensey, a tributary to the Tamar. Didn’t quite make it across the border Fortified farm yard I then headed off to the North Coast and Bude to drop into North Cornwall Motorcycles. Ignorant as fuck in there as usual, 6th time I have been there in the last two years and no one has spoken to me yet. Not that worried as they have a terrible customer service reputation so I would never buy anything there. Still nice to have a look at their stock and it is entertaining that no one ever looks at or talks to you, I would be disappointed if they did now Nice Evel Knievel style Sporty, would never ride such a thing but 1970’s Cool Disney Princess edition Glide thing 9.5k VFR 1200, very nice and not expensive @ 3.6k 4 x 1200 GS’es. 3.6k to 4.2k not sure if that is expensive or not but they were all luggaged up with 40k plus on the clock. Shiny buttons Guerrilla looks nice in red and black. In the flesh it is a nice looking bike, not sure I would spunk £5k for a new one. Maybe in a couple of years time I would pick up a low miles used one. Prefer it to the small Triumph. NCM had some really nice looking interesting bikes in stock, but a lot of them have been there for a long time. Might be that I interested in old stuff but their inventory was mostly old bikes and new Enfield’s. Only modern ish bike I spotted was. 250 Strom.

Congratulations, looking good. Have you seen the bill yet

Vauxhall. Firenzas are rare as hens teeth now and that Droop Snoot rarer still. Very cool car IMHO. Tiny by modern standards. When I was a teenager one of my mates had a base model 1.3 Firenza, dog slow but looked fast

What you doing? I got the weekend off so I am actually having a normal weekend for once. I was supposed to go to a Gig down at St Ives last night to see Kimber's Men but the Mrs ain't to good so cried off, my eldest daughter couldn't be bribed with Rattler, for once, son working and Shadow up her boyfriends. So I didn't go in the end, bugger. Storm Burts here so biking this weekend is doubtful. I am taking the Mrs out for breakfast this morning after we drop Shadow up her boy friends, (No Bike Yet). I am out tonight singing with my group, looking forward to that at least. Sunday maybe a quiet day, depending how Saturday night goes.

Shush, I haven't mentioned replacing that and she hasn't either. She made me smile yesterday as I was talking to her about getting the bike back together with the broken plastics glued and patched up until the new parts are here. She is having none of that . She wants to wait for the new parts and for it to be right. I didn't say anything I don't mind her being off the road for the next few days given the way the weather is, one less worry.

Or allow someone else to say without challenge, I know, my Wife would have had something to say about that . The thing is his Mrs is absolutely stunning, Blonde Eastern European type.

I know, I see him as a red trousered wanker but he is an entertaining fuckwit nonetheless. When he was doing squats and press up at the beginning of the vid, I was saying out loud "You fucking Twat"
-
I know he triggers you mate, don’t worry this vid won’t disappoint, he is a total twat in it.

If you ever get to Brugge you must find Bar De Garr. Not easy to find but worth the effort. They only serve half pints for a vert good reason, stunning bear brewed on the premise. I hope to go back one day

This is my commute to work this morning, thank goodness I am on leave this week. Someone else's problem

Tell them no, you can't have restrictions on your work. Who knows what is around the corner, circumstances can change. Been through this with my Mrs when she sold her Hairdressing Salon 20 years ago now. They tried to stop her working at all within a 5 miles radius of the Salon for 5 years, we got the clause removed and the sale went ahead just fine. I think these clauses are a default that are put into business sales contract, of course you can't agree to that.

I first thought that, but judging by her reaction I'm not so sure. She is a Japanese woman and very honest and was very very upset about what happened so I genuinely don't know. I chose to believe she didn't, for my temper and sanity. Not sure I could say the same if Shadow was injured. But we are where we are and things turned out as well as they could.

Absolutely it's almost like you heard what I said to her.

I didn't want to go through insurance unless I had no choice. Even though it would not have been Shadows fault it would still have gone down on her insurance record at 17. Also as you say the bike would have written off for the sake of 4 plastic panels and a screen. The prices for those parts is exorbitant, blatantly a rip off in my opinion. The bottom speedo casing slone was £99 FFS. But what can you do apart from build an ugly street fighter/cafe racer type thing. Not something she would like or me. She likes having the best, newest, cleanest CB125F in the college car park. Also the woman didn't want to go through insurance unless she had to as her excess was £500 and next years premium would have gone up. Plus I didn't push it, but she did leave the scene of an accident. On the plus side Shadow is basically fine, if a bit sore, she can't wait to be back on the road. She is tough, has been thrown off horses many times in her young life . I will be getting busy with the super glue to get her back up and running while we are waiting for the new parts to come. I did chide her a little as she was going a little fast when it happened, only 15 MPH but still to fast to stop when the woman pulled out in front of her. I told her I had seen video of the whole thing. Definitely not Shadows fault but a little more caution would have probably avoided the whole thing. I may be being a little over critical but I have years of experience and you can't expect her to get that overnight. I did take her and her mum out for posh coffee and cake to chill after the event, but she is fine, up her boy friends now.

Well been a stressful day so far. Had a phone call this morning that Shadow had been knocked off her bike. About 100 yards down the road from home. Terrified I ran down the road to find her up and about. A woman had pulled out of her driveway and clipped Shadow and skittled her off, then oblivious drove off. The crash was witnessed by a nurse from across the street and heard by a friend. By the time I got there the nurse had checked Shadow over who was unharmed but a little scuffed and shook up. I got the woman’s husband out who rang her and called her back. She was very apologetic and admitted full liability. In the mean time her husband brought up his CCTV and found footage of the accident. Clearly she forced Shadow off the road and off the bike. Now I will add at this point I have known this couple for over 30 years and they are decent people. The husband asked me what I wanted to do. I said that as long as the damaged was paid for I didn’t need it escalated any further than that. Anyway, after it had all calmed down, I took the bike for a ride, mechanically it rode perfectly so the damage was only broken plastic. Very expensive broken plastics but only cosmetic. I got the bike stripped and found the actual damage. Called the husband who immediately came and paid for the parts, plus new leggings and crash helmet. £910 in total. Just waiting for the parts now and she will be back on the road. All genuine Honda parts. I am pleased that things have been sorted and very thankful that Shadow is okay, don’t know how I would have coped if she was seriously hurt. I know I could have pursued the woman, police, insurance claims and such but don’t see the point. Shadow is okay and everything will be replaced with new parts.
