  1. I bleddy did it again. Followed a link on hear for some cheapy textile waterproof lined trousers on Ebay for £29.99. Guess what, they were crap and unwearable, mesh lining was sewn in twisted so you could not get you right leg in, press studs on the waste broken. Going back tomorrow. So I thought bite the bullet and go and buy some decent ones, which I did, and to my surprise the ones to match my Richa Jacket were only £99.99, so with my loyalty discount I got them for £89.99. Why the feck did I not do that in the first place? I think I have scrooge disease or something.
  2. I am not in the market for a tourer now, my days of doing that are finished, been all over on my R100RS and K100RS in the past. Loved it, but done it. Still have a soft spot for Beamers though. Chap in town has a Blackbird, I appreciate that, no ambition to get one but do like it.

They fit pretty well considering I still have the armour in and am wearing 3 layers and jeans underneath. I am thinking of work commuting, don't want to have to change when I get there.
  4. Nope, I am not that much of a fan of the angry insect, plastic fantastic look. Now if I could get a modern version of a CB400N Superdream that would be the more the cut of my jib.
  5. If a job is worth doing it is worth doing twice To be fair the first time I didn't dry the clocks on the radiator overnight as Wee jaunt did. Also I didn't fit extra gasket material like he did either. Guess what my first efforts didn't work. This time though I am going to do exactly what Wee jaunt did, I have even bought the exact material he did to make the new sealing gasket.

Wow that was a good guess. I threatened to grow a growler but my Daughters didn't want their mates thinking I was Santa, which to be fair would be accurate
  7. Nah I am not a fan of the riding position, does look good though.

I am chuffed with it, the Jacket has been great so it made sense to get trousers to match.

Funnily enough I have never seen a picture of you, in my mind I am thinking Shrek and Hagred's progeny

  11. I went out for a 40 mile round trip to Damerells today to buy some waterproof and lined trousers for winter riding. Be churlish not to take some bike photos while I was there. I had a good look at a KTM 390, I couldn't live with the looks. I did like to the look of a BMW F800GT, I could see myself on that. Also interested to see a CF Moto 650GT, which did look rather well put together for a more budget bike. Also had a look at a Sportster, which I thought looked as cool as hell, I would never ride one but I do appreciate the look of it. Finally, I know to most of you I am a lost cause, but the bike I would have bought would have been the Ginger Interceptor. I could see myself quite happy on that. Simple, air cooled, looks and sounds good, plus plenty fast enough for an old codger like me. No plans to change at all just window shopping. I noticed that Damerells have turned over a lot of their stock from my last visit. Lot of bikes in the showroom with sold tickets on too. Pleased to see it really.

Que the most awkward selfie ever. Went up to Damerells and got myself some proper lined trousers for the winter. I got Richa's so they match and attach to my Jacket. Nice and warm riding home from the dealership. Just gotta fit the Oxford Muffs tomorrow and I should be set for the winter now.
  13. Basically the Completion of Truro Cathedral, originally Lostwithiel was the capital before Bodmin.
  14. The Gribbin, maritime navigational day mark. Near me.
  15. Just nipped out for a shortish Bimble today. I wanted to refuel the bike but ended up getting distracted and went up to a small Village on the edge of Bodmin Moor called Lanlivery. The on to Bodmin itself, had a look up the Beacon while I was there then down to Priory Park before heading home. Bodmin is a former County Town, like the capital before it was moved to Truro. Also a Garrison town as well, in the past. as home to the Duke of Cornwall Light Infantry. I like Bodmin it is a great place with lots going on. I have worked many hours at Bodmin Hospital so know it pretty well. Lost of history with the DCLI museum, Bodmin and Wenford Steam railway and Bodmin Jail. Also it was original the Home of Bodmin Asylum. Down here calling someone 'Bodmin' is an insult meaning you have a screw loose.

I do actually have a set of Oxford Muffs sitting on the shelf I bought for another bike and never fitted. It could be their time

My top half was ok really apart from index fingers which were sitting out in the airstream from behind the hand guards. From knees down I could feel some heat from the engine, so it was only really above the knees to my waist that got really cold. I am hoping some decent lined waterproof winter trousers, along with some thermal underwear will solve the problem. The screen, front bags and hand guards provide a surprising amount of wind protection, to me anyway, more than I had expected. It all a learning curve as I spent several happy years on fully faired BMW's so in the airstream at any sort of speed above 40 mph in something I haven't done for a very long time. I have looked at heated under layers and my Mrs suggested the same, not ruling them out just see how I get on.
  19. Feck me was it cold this morning, coming home from work and now seeing the temperature dropping to a seasonal 3c was a shock to the system after an 8 year break from biking. Thank goodness it was only 32 miles. I had a little difficulty getting off the bike. I know the right gear is important and summer waterproof trousers over jeans doesn't cut it now. Not moaning really just a reminder of what I have chosen to do. I see some padded motorcycling trousers and thermals in my near future.
  20. It is, if you follow the Saints way towards Golant then turn left at Penventinue to Lanherriot Farm, not on the map, and the old coach road is just on the left, you can't miss it there is nothing else there. It is possible by bike but a bit challenging, I did it on a DT175 many years ago.

I think I would give them a miss, dog probably pissed on them anyway. My dog would have.
  22. If it was my boy yes, but the good one is only 17 and not up for that sort of thing. Or that's what I am hoping
  23. It's possible but would cost a lot, looks like a one class racer from some port that I don't know. Fowey River has its own class of racer called Troy's where are a similar size. Falmouth have what they call Restricted 18's again of a similar size. My father in law was a local Boat Builder and built several of the Troy racers and restored others as well as a Falmouth 18. That's how I know the little I do. My wife and I had a Redwing 16 which was the same thing but different if that makes any sense, I am sure you can tell that I am and have never been a sailor, but I know lots of people who are. I do find the boats interesting though.
