Today I have been mostly taking up our rotten old decking. It was becoming dangerous so had to go plus the plan is to build a decent sized bike storage shed and a smaller deck or patio to sit out on during the good weather. Rain stopped play but a start has been made. The only thing that has survived is some stainless screws. Did I mention I hate doing this sort of stuff

Yeah I grew up in a bangernomics household. My Dad always bought crap cars but always managed to keep them going until they practically dissolved. It was only in his 50's that he actually bought some decent cars as he just couldn't be arsed with make do and mend anymore. Plus things were getting more and more complicated. I'm afraid that's where I am now, I don't want a project bike ever again I just want to press the button and ride. I don't mind servicing but that's about it now.

I'm not sure your choice of phrase is the most flattering But I do like my CBF Cockroach and chose that particular model for the obvious reasons, although I was seriously tempted to get one of the more spicey Honda 600/4's. I know the Transalps' reputation but so does everybody else that's why Bob, Fred and I are surprised by that that one's particular price. It's just too cheap by quite a margin, to be fair you could buy it and possibly re engine it and still come out below market value but why would you want the hassle? That dealer has a reputation as a rip off merchant. So a bike tidy and way to cheap, along with that does wave a red flag to me. If I was genuinely interested in buying a Transalp I would look for one with decent history and pay a bit more. They are a bit tall for me and I can't be arsed with lowering. I also can't get away from my preconception that dirt Bikes should be small and light. . I can't help but think a Dullville would suit me more in terms of practicality but don't know if I could handle the shame of owning one. I didn't see any GS's at Kitt Hill although I wasn't particularly looking for any. I'm sure there would have been some there but I didn't get out of the main car park. I do really like the older Airhead BMW's (GS included) and Flying Brick K bikes, the newer ones leave me a bit cold if I am honest. I'm sure they are great bikes but just not really my thing. Me too, looks as clean as a pin with 20,000 miles on the clock. If it was good it would be at least a grand more. That place hasn't got the best of reputations as is, I wouldn't gamble on that TransAlp personally.

I don't know anything about that Mubaro, I would say it was old restored rather than new but where it comes from I don't know. I thought the numbers on the side of the engine casing looked Eastern European but that was as far as any of us got. Didn't see the owner as it would have been nice to know.

Headed up to Kitt Hill this morning Good breakfast at Kitt Hill and 100 plus bikes. I took some photos of what interested me. After a couple of hours looking at and chatting bikes we headed back to Chequered Flag for a posh coffee and some more bike chat. Some interesting bikes for sale there.

Exactly the same for us mate the day after the roofers started the ceiling came down in our office and two terminals (pc’s) were ruined. Luckily it was a day I wasn’t working.

Chilli ride home from work this morning, just above zero when I left but I had the right gear so warm enough. Stunning ride across the moor this morning. Light traffic and I passed all there was. I’m getting very attached to this CBF especially now I have the bigger touring screen with its protection. Just a good bike, not the best at anything. Handles well, is fast enough and frugal enough. Good lights, doesn’t look too knackered and easy to fix. It’s not worth much so I happy putting the miles on it, definitely hits a sweet spot in my troubled mind. . Also got to add the Oxford heated grips are the dogs Bollix . They work really well and are much better than the ones on my Hornet. I am normally always looking for the next bike but I think the CBF is going to break me of that habit. Bloody hospital is in uproar as we have the roofers in.

Question I have is how the hell to you eat something like that after beer without wearing it? I bet you had beard debris this morning.

We did something very similar with one of our past Jack Russells, we swore never to do it again. Problem is letting go is hard and when there is hope it's very difficult. As has been said Pedro I so hope you get the most time possible with Costa.

Here’s some van action, my older daughter and I snow foamed and cleaned up the van she is learning to drive in. We had to as my Mrs had a sense of humour failure over Kady splattering cow shit up both sides of the van. The vans is an old clunker but it will be a great first vehicle for my Eldest She already told my Mrs it’s going to be called the Shaggin Wagon, which didn’t go down well either

Just been out for a bimble as it is lovely and dry here. Went up to Trago Mills Liskeard to look for some winter gloves, only discover it was pensioner discount day . What a pit of misery that place is. Plus they only had small and medium bike gloves so the whole thing was a bust. Ended up riding up through the Glynn Valley then blasted back down the A30 to St Aweful and across country back to Fowey through Trethurgy and St Blazey. Nice 60 mile trip that and blew the cobwebs away. I gotta say that for everyday bimbling about the CBF600 is a very competent and fuss free machine. I really enjoy it.

If it's anything like the Stan Stevens stage 3 tune I had on my RD400 it will have a powerband as wide as a nats cock and a dramatic thirst. It was fast but close to unrideable on the road. The folly of youth and the perceived importance of bragging rights lead me to ruin a perfectly good bike. Oh well learning is always expensive.
