Well cracked my first 1000 miles on the CBF today. Been pretty Honda really just been on the button when ever I have needed it. Have put a set of tyres on it and changed the oil but apart from farkles and fuel haven’t needed to spend anything. I really like it happy to bimble around but is plenty quick enough when the revs are up. Mind you got completely spanked by a fire blade on Liskeard by pass today. No surprise there and backed off before it got silly.

I survived lesson one. Got her pulling away and changing into second gear. Some steering, clutch and brake control. Lots to learn but kept her laughing rather the stressed and anxious. Nothing like a deserted WW2 airfield for plenty of space to learn. Google Davidstow Airfield if you are interested. Hopefully I will get her sound on basic car control before she starts formal lessons. Good to be in her company for a couple of hours. Bodmin Moor off in the distance Somebody else up there teaching his boy to ride. I may take Chloe up there in the future, shame it’s 26 miles from home.

Not a bad start to the day. Off to give my middle daughter her first driving lesson today. If I’m not back you know the reason

You alright Clive, been very quiet lately

Started the day with a 5k walk as the sun came up. Then had to take my fuck nut of a son to Bodmin scooter centre to get a new back tyre. I liked the guys who work there. I would go there to have work done, reasonable price and seemed pretty knowledgeable. Daft boy is now talking about getting a bike as apparently riding a ped is embarrassing . Obviously his mates are taking the piss. I did tell him at the time but what the fuck do I know.

Ok Tough Guy

Mate you do know that telling people how tough you are normally convinces them you aren’t.

I knew that and I never watch puff ball

Sorry I forgot myself, I know that's not how we talk in here. I made the mistake of actually trying to answer Marcels question, I should have told him to kick matey's head in

Result for me last night. Earlier in the week my boss rang me and asked me if I could do 3 extra hours on Sunday night, start at 1900 rather than 2200 until 0800 this morning. Didn't really want to but duty to help out sort of took over as we are always short staffed. Anyway got into work last night called control to log in, only to be told that I could go home as my clinician phoned in with Covid. Woohoo paid for 13 hours for driving to work and back. Doesn't happen often but feels very sweet when it does. Only regret not taking the bike as it was a lovely evening.

I notice there are no studio shots of the left hand side of the bike. I wonder why that can be

See you knew the answer all the way along. It sounds like it was said in banter as you obviously have a working relationships and you have reacted badly to it. Some things are not funny and we all have our buttons, I understand why given the context you have explained. Chill and don't let it wind you up, have a grown up conversation and move on.
-
To be honest Marcel it sounds like it was said, then you went off and stewed about and have now got your arse in your hand after the fact. You should have dealt with it when it happened, calmly told him not to disrespect you with false accusations and find another job if he can't treat his boss with proper respect. Thumping him will always lose the argument, not something grown ups should do in a work situation. Nice to talk about but sily to actually do. False accusations of racism are just as vile and cowardly as racism itself.

If that is all you said it's time to give that employee a straighter/ bollocking. Tell him to get his head on straight or find another job. Doesn't matter about your heritage in this context.

I know that mate but fuzzy head after working all night lead to the error.

Well yesterday started fantastically with an early run home from work down the A30 across Bodmin Moor. Stunning beautiful scenery, fresh morning with my Hornet carving it up in light traffic. No heroics just bimbling along in the 70/80 mph range with an occasional spurt quicker to get past traffic. My idea of heaven on two wheels. The sound that bike makes doing that sort of thing is addictive even on the standard pipe. Anyway stopped in Bodmin to get the dog his favourite biscuits then home as happy as you can be after a night shift. Put the bike away in its tent thing, had a drink and chat with my Mrs then went to bed. Next thing I know my youngest was shaking me awake to tell me the bike has fallen over. Fuck, out of bed and dressed to get out side to see the Hornet has gone over on its side inside the tent thing and to top it off was lying against my car. By this time I was totally pissed off and even though I managed to get inside the tent with the bike I couldn’t get an angle to try and lift it. I didn’t want to try and fail and let the bike drop against my car again and cause more damage. Luckily for me my best mate is a freakishly strong bull of a man who I used to play rugby with. So I rung him, he lives in the street next to mine and he came over. Between us we lifted the bike back up, with him outside the tent and me inside. Now the damage. I had been very lucky really as the Hornet only had a minor scuff on the rear plastics below the seat. The SW Motech pannier frames saved the day at the back. The front was unmarked aside from my new bar end mirror. FFS My car has a small car park ding sized dent in the passenger door. No big deal but just enough to piss me off. Anyway ordered another set of the same mirrors from Amazon so it should be all fixed by tonight. The bike tent thing is a bit twisted but still fully functional. As far as I could tell I think I had not put side stand down fully and the bike has just rolled off it. So fucking annoying but shit happens. I think what freaked me out is that I could not get the Hornet back up on my own. Luckily my mate helped.
