Just ordered a set of Japanese chain and sprockets from M&P £32. Joys of 125cc biking I suppose, and the chain is gold which will please Shadow no end.

Dieing of man flu as most of us do, anyway get a call from Shadow and her bike broke down on the way to college. I jumped on the CBF chucked my tools in the panniers and headed off. When I got there her chain had come off, easy enough fix but I am surprised it got so loose so quickly. Pulled if off the back of the sprocket and it is knackered so going to order her a new one in a minute. OEM chain lasted about 6k miles, not the best quality, but surprisingly enough the sprockets look absolutely fine, no real sign of wear at all. Going back to dieing now having used up any energy I had

I would say don't pump a load of cash into a bike yet, get an older £1500-£2000 Sport bike for a few months and see if that is really what you want. You can always sell it later for a more spendy sport bike or try a different type of bike without losing thousands in depreciation. If you were to pump say 7 to 10K plus into something you found didn't suit what you wanted to do in the long run you would take a big hit in depreciation. Just a thought. Good luck with whatever you choose to do.

That GSX8R is a lovely bike but the ZX6R or ZX9R is a whole nother level if you want sport riding. I have ridden a GSX8S good torquey and relatively quick bike but not a really a sport bike, also has piss poor lights. I much prefer my CB750 Hornet to the GSX8S I have an itch for a ZX9R, hellofva lot of bike for the money in comparison to a Blade. But I’m old and fucked I couldn’t ride a real sport bike for long.

Hello and Welcome. My best mate had a ZX6R for awhile, plenty quick enough for sure, tis a sport bike though and depending what you want to do with it, it can be a little uncomfortable and thirsty. Fantastic bit of kit for a blast though. Be interested to see how you get on.

Ours is 15 years old with no issue apart from servicing.

I feel a bit daft not going there before, one prat I know slagged him and I was daft enough to believe pratto even though I know the prat to be a bullsihtting fuckwit. Like I say nice to be proved wrong, also the chap has a cash price for small jobs, now that is a blast from the past.

Found a new Bike Shop less than 15 minutes from my place. I sort of knew about the guy but for some reason I didn’t think he was up to much, probably cause someone slagged him to me. Anyway went up there to get Shadow’s new back tyre fitted, nice to be proved wrong top guy, friendly, helpful and with reasonable prices. Also finally got around to sorting the boys ped. It needed new front pads but being made of Chineseium one of the pad pins stripped and the old ones wouldn’t come out. When this happened I had a sense of humour failure and just got another calliper from eBay. All bled and fitted so he has new brake fluid as well now. I know if he ever buys one of these things again I will strip the callipers and anti seize them before use. To be fair the ped has been flawlessly reliable in the 2.5 years he has had it. Probably crumble to dust for it’s first MoT in August

Been up Davidstow again today teaching my new acolyte to ride her bike ready for her CBT. Tis a Honda CBR125R nice bike and a lot of fun for what it is. Shadow is very envious of it.

I like the look of it but if I had a spare 5k I wouldn’t spend it on that. Or any new bike tbh. I fancy an old air cooled Honda or Kwack 4. Z650B or CB750F type of thing.

Been out teaching my eldest daughter to drive then took the Hornet up to Damerells for a run. Fecking cold on the way home when the sun went in. I do like the colour of the Guerilla Playa Black, reminds me of a DT175 from back in the day. Nice Nine T.

My experience is pretty much the same as yours. The motor is an animal for sure, I have come to the conclusion it's the power delivery that makes it feel quick, pulls really hard at lowish revs where you do most everyday riding. I absolutely love it. A fantastic bike that I see no need to change. I have only done 3500 miles in the 16 months I have owned it as I have been doing most of my mileage on the CBF600. While the CBF is a comfy old slipper with good wind protection getting off it and onto the Hornet makes it feel a beast all over again. Not sure how you will get on with that screen, I had the same one on my CB500F and I didn't notice much of an improvement, but you are probably a different shape to me so it may work differently for you. I always thought it made my CB500 look like an alert Cockatiel Oh and if you are looking for a rack the SW Motech one is excellent, beautifully made and a perfect fit and not very obtrusive to the look of the bike.

Fecking tornado in Newquay today wreaked a holiday park. I was over there yesterday on my bike.
