I am probably being a bit disingenuous, the chap in question is very popular in the sailing and rowing community. There are lads coming from all over to have craick and sing. Hopefully he doesn't die and we all have a good night.

If he doesn't ring back before your need another prescription and you can't contact him ring 111 out of hours. Your call and eventual consultation will be logged, plus they will probably give you a script in the mean time. Also any notes will be forwarded to your GP and their will be a paper trail. WIll get his/her attention hopefully for your benefit.

Working tonight and Sunday, got a 90th birthday party to go to Saturday night. Fuck knows what that is going to be like.

Exactly. I was talking to our Dentist (I know him and used to sing with him) this week as Chloe had an appointment for a check up. He was telling me there is a 10 year waiting list for NHS patients in this area. How the fuck can that be in a first world country.

To be honest I believe Vet care has largely gone corporate around here. All the little surgeries have been bought out by national corporates. Their prices seem to reflect the maximum they can charge pet insurance companies, if you are old school and pay the bill you are fucked. Bit like the American Health Care model . Don't like to agree with some of your earlier sentiments but the UK is slowly becoming an difficult and sad place to live.

Vets bill have gone through the roof over the last couple of years. My brother in law was quoted £650 to neuter his dog.

Some people like last forever ditch finders no matter what the car. To be fair by the look of the Yummy Mummy type that was in the car she probably bought what the man at the garage recommended and he probably recommended what he had on the shelf. Still good taste in Dogs. Neopolitan Mastiff, I think, didn't ask.

Another couple of hours out with my youngest. Small improvements and has now managed to do a few controlled figure of 8’s. I was pleased with her progress but it is a good patience tested for someone who is not naturally so. Each stint went on for no longer than 30 minutes. Took a couple of breaks to talk about what we were doing any why. We laughed during one of the breaks outside the shop as this guy turned up and was howling for his mum who went in the shop. Stunning creature. Have to have a couple of days break now as we are both working but should be back at it on Monday.

Very good, great skill for your lad to learn. Funnily enough I have always fancied turning pens and stuff. Went as far as buying a small wood lathe and the gouges. Made loads of things like new handles for the saucepans and new handles for tools and stuff. Bought a load old chisels sorted and re handled them. Never got around to getting a pen mandrel. But there's an idea. Oh and very envious of your engineers lathe, I would sell my soul to have set up like that and the skills to use it properly.

Females all out shopping here and my boy is at work. Just me and the dog. Got loads to do but can't be arsed. Think I will go for a nap

True, I passed my bike test in 1984 but didn't sit my car test until 1986. It was easy I passed 1st time after 8 x1 hour lessons because I had plenty of road and riding experience. It wouldn't don't any harm for most people to do a CBT as part of their driving licence for both bike and car, for the reasons you say. Confidence and familiarity with controlling a motor vehicle has got to cross over and being on 2 wheels will make you all to aware of your vulnerabilities.

We are going out whenever there is a break in the weather. Tomorrow is looking good for us so that will be the third day in a row since we started. My idea is little and often so that it will become second nature, initially I thought once or twice a week but that won't work with Chloe as it gives her too much time to worry about stuff. I am still getting used to what works with her, but we have six months to play with and summer coming, so no pressure or rush for her.
-
Yet she still managed to do a good job, clever woman.

It was 45 minutes in total. We did stop to talk but I do take your point. I will pack a snack and drink for her next time so we can sit away from the bike and talk about events. She has ADHD the ADD form so does struggle with concentration at times but she will get there just takes more time and patience.
-
She has , but the boy has his ped so the precedent has been set. And that daft fuck won't listen to anything I say and he has survived so far.

Out with the Dear Maid for lesson two today. Nothing exciting just a few loops of the rugby club car park. She did reasonably well but dropped it a couple of times which knocked her confidence a little but it is bound to happen. Kept forgetting to de clutch as she came to a halt and was dragged over. Few tears but she is fine now, the bike was owned by a newbie before her so nothing scratched that wasn’t already. Still working on her clutch control but it’s coming. I was hoping to get her doing figure of eights today but that can wait. There is no rush. I am limiting the lesson to 45 minutes so that she doesn’t get too stressed. All about confidence with her. Shame she didn’t grow up with a shitbox old dirt bike to learn in a field but that sort of thing is rare nowadays.

Don't be ashamed mate, the Merican bike crowd wear their shirts loud and proud.
