    New Bike.

Well back on subject, the Dear Girl and I were supposed to be cleaning and sorting her bike today plus go through some of the controls for the first time I take her for a lesson. She listened intently about brakes and clutch control plus was pulling away pretty well, never stalled it once. She also got it on and off the stands without fault. Not bad for a 5"1" 7 stone newbie. Not so interested with chain cleaning/lubing/adjusting, tyre pressures, oil and general cleaning. Brushing it all away with the phrase "But you will help me with all that won't you Dad?" she knows me too well. She did polish the tank. She also grilled me about USB charging and a quadlock. . Have also just splashed out on a Lid, Jacket and gloves for her. .

  4. Bimbled up to Damerells this morning to sort some stuff for my daughter’s bike and noticed the Harley that was sold last week is back parked outside. I sure the owner is is just the to get some farkles and not complain. Seriously there were no disgruntled types in Damerells so I guess all is good. To be fair it is a cracking looking bike.

    New Bike.

Just been up to Damerells to check a few things out for the CB125. I wanted to get the bits to service it and see if it was still under warranty and order a spare key. They couldn't help with its history as I had to call the supplying dealer but they did assure me that as long as it had it's first service at around 600 miles all would be good. Also I bought the service bits at Damerells because if you service it yourself you have to prove you used genuine Honda parts. Well the bike has a Fowlers Number plate on it so I called them. First service done at 645 miles in October 23 so the bikes warranty is still valid until July 2025, Result.
  6. True, but still a work of art. I always think art should be encouraged
  7. About 30 as far as I could tell. The whole event had a very village feel to it. Everybody friendly and willing to talk and tell you what was happening. I will definitely go again.
  8. Yep twas a T160 motor,
  9. Fantastic picture, would make a great bike of the month shot.
  10. Both my lids have the buckle, would prefer D rings out of choice but I haven't seen them as an option of most lids.
  11. I know mate it has been pissing down here all day
  12. Love the litter in the background, adds authenticity
  13. Heavily modified 900cc big bore TriBSA triple in hill climb trim. The closer you look the more you see. Was very fast and sounded awesome.
  14. 6 of us from Fowey went up to Devon today to see the National Hillclimb Association first event of the year. We stopped for breakfast near Poundstock. They thought us old fuckers must be dodgy as we had to pay before they would serve us any food. I personally was flattered that they thought I could do a runner. . It was very nice though and they warmed up after awhile When they realised we were behaving. Trip Stats It was an interesting meet with several interesting bike’s although most seemed to be modified crossers. There was one combination so I guess that won its class. Hartland Point was vey pretty with Lundy Island out on the horizon. Some pretty big balls in terms of pace. Mental buggers. Some interesting stuff in the car park, well to me anyway. Also our little band, my other mate wouldn’t take his Ventura into the field Don’t Blaine him it probably weighed over 300kegs We stopped in Bude for a cuppa on the way home. Had a chance to look at my mates V4 Ventura on the way home. Detuned V-Max motor. Very big bike but beautifully put together. Bloody good day out with the old codgers.
  15. It’s genuinely not.

Don’t worry she will be well trained. She is a good kid and does listen. Quite an accomplished horsewoman already. I am more worried about the adventures she will embark on. She is already talking about doing a LeJog on it, guess whose sad ass will be stuck behind her at 50 mph all the way. . Not moaning really the fact she does actually want me to go on her adventures is pretty rewarding. . Not daft I know my main job will be to pay.
  17. I’ve got a couple of those sets, throw away money but useful nonetheless.
  18. I would look at your tyre pressures to.

In the UK you can ride a 50cc at 16 and a 125cc at 17. I didn't want her to have a 50cc as they are very slow and vulnerable on the road. 125cc at least can keep up with traffic on a and B roads. I am hoping that this daughter will go for her full licence as she is bike mad. When she gets her A2 she can go up to 47 bhp then onto unrestricted after that but I am not sure how that goes. I got my full licence before those rules came in.
