  1. Yeah true, but I would actually have to want one as well.
  2. If only I could afford a Harley
  3. That's a good idea, could try local radio as well and threaten Local MP, they probably don't know how feckless he appears to be.
  4. I couldn't find any on the wiring diagram.
  5. That's Britain mate. I come from a huge family but I know of maybe two that would help out in an emergency like Clive is facing and maybe one close friend. Everybody is wrapped up with their own problems. Also the current media narrative around immigration and benefit scroungers has fed into a very poor attitude to people in general and real acute need. Homelessness and food banks are normal and just accepted here which is abysmal given the relative wealth of our country . Given that context it's not hard to understand corporate indifference to Clives situation.
  6. I know I did address that under the pictures.
  7. Is it worth emailing you MP? may put a rocket up the feckers.
  8. That's good to know about the parasitic draw, I was told they didn't use anything unless charging something but I didn't trust the feckers May get an Eastern Beaver for my Hornet, love that name
  9. As more electrical accessories become part of every day biking we are going to have to make provision for them if our bikes are not compliant . I currently have heated grips and a USB charging socket in my bike that was wired directly to the battery. In theory they should cause no problem as the Oxford Grips have a smart controller that will automatically turn off after 15 mins if no charging is detected. Also the USB sockets will draw no power unless being used. The problem is that I don’t trust them. I want everything to cease once the key is off. So with this being the case I bought a branded Lightening Box. Which takes power directly from the battery with a trigger lead to be attached to a switched live circuit. So if the ignition is on the Lightening box is, if off the same. There are several similar products to achieve this. Thunder Box (approx £85) Lightning Box (approx £50) Oxford Box (approx £25). I bought the Lightening Box but wish I had gone with the Oxford one as it looks identical. I expect they are all sourced from China and that there are many other options than those I listed. Here is the Lightening box in site on my Honda CBF600 which doesn’t have a great deal of space to fit such things. I took the trigger from the main fuse box on the instrument circuit. You can see the red wire in the picture. Ignition off Ignition on Wiring diagram Easy enough project but I thought I would put it on here if anyone wanted to do the same. Of course you set up your own relay feed triggered in the same way but to do it in a tidy way for 4 circuits would be a challenge and I couldn’t be bothered on my bike with its limited space. If there wasn’t a bleddy great ABS pump under the seat I may have done.
  10. Yeah chest infections will do that. Also managed 2 Steptoe and Sons Christmas Specials, 1972 and 1973
  11. Been off work this weekend with the lurgy, felt like shit but still tried to get some minor stuff done. Started up the Hornet for 20 minutes to run it up to temperature to keep it happy. Also looking around my big shed/workshop found an Aldi middle aisle vice I bought years ago and had forgotten about. Got it set up in my bike gear shed for some small little jobs which it should be fine for. The Agribatt usb charger is working out fine. Was going to fit a break out switching box for electrical stuff on the CBF but could just not summon up enough fucks to give to actually do it. Lurgy got the better of me. I want to fit the break out/lightening/thunder box to make sure the heated grips switch with the ignition as well as the Aoocchi Apple player thinger I want to fit. The Oxford grips have an auto switch off feature but I don’t trust it, rather they were on the key. Shadow has been out on her bike all day in this weather. She has the biker attitude. I did send her a £10 so she could get some lunch out. She has told me to stop fussing as she has layers on and is not cold.
  12. Yep will do if it is ever here long enough. Was going to do it this morning but her latest Bo is playing rugby in St Austell so she is in their doing the WAG thing. It's coming up for an oil change in 400 miles so will prolly do it all at the same time.
  13. Got the fucking lurgy again, another chest infection and course of antibiotics . Feeling crap and I get the call from Shadow to come and rescue her. She had minor spill last week dropping her bike off the stand. Nothing really but snapped the front brake lever so ordered a new one from EBay and put it on yesterday. No problem yesterday but today the front brake dragged got hot and started to smoke and lock. Anyway got the call to go and get her. Took the original lever which is serviceable but no ball on the end. Swapped it out and all was good. Brakes had cooled off by the time I got there. Anyway when she got home we cleaned the bike and I stripped and cleaned the front brakes. Now going to order a genuine Honda front brake lever. I’m so tempted to adjust the pattern one with a file, it really can’t be off that much, couple of mill here or there but it’s not worth the risk with her. If it were me I would.
  14. Windjammer mate, 1970/80's cool as fuck to those who know. I do believe they did a version of the Yam XS1100 with one as standard. I think that Sabre suits it well
