  6. Just been out on a Hornet bimble with my mate. Nothing much to see apart from dirty Hornets.
  7. I have actually been to Passchendaele but not on that day, just stepped in a puddle that was deeper than it looked.

    Loobman

I quite like the look of this set up if I can't get on with the Loobman, which to be fair seemed a bit Heath Robinson when I was fitting it but seems to work well. https://tutorochainoiler.com/

Yeah I realise that stock chains could be better, to be fair I haven't had to adjust mine yet and I am nearly a 1000 miles into using it. So it hasn't stretched yet. I like that I can control when the oil comes out of the Loobman but also am aware that oil viscosity changes with temperature not that it ever gets that hot here really. I am going to experiment with chainsaw bar oil in the summer but I have quite alot of different oils in the shed accumulated over the years. It just grips my shit that the chain flash rusts, never had that in the past when I just oiled the chain regularly, I think I just trusted the aerosol lube and its promises to much, it also grips my shit that it is £15 a tin.

I was using this stuff, and it wasn’t cheap. Not at all happy with it. I used Banana Slip before that and some Wurth stuff before that. I’m fed it with it all so going back to regularly oiling my chain. Each to their own but I never had problems doing that in the past.

It's not dripping near the back wheel it is dripping directly onto the sprocket on both faces then centripetal force pushes it onto the chain. No different to oiling your chain from a can. I am done with these bloody chain waxes and stuff they just don't keep the chain clean especially in winter. I have been using good quality stuff this winter on the Hornet, exactly as described and the chain has flash rusted twice, bloody annoying.

Well a year and a bit later I got around to fitting my Loobman. It went on easy enough and seems to work as intended but I suppose only time will tell as to how effective it is. I managed to tuck it away so it’s not very visible. The idea is you press down the plunger on the oil reservoir before you ride for 10 seconds and that releases a measure of oil the drips onto the sprocket and eventually the chain while you ride. It was developed by three guys working as despatch riders. Apparently. I like the idea of it better than the Scottoiler which is bloody expensive and either has to be wired in or connected to the engine induction vacuum. I don’t want to spend £250 to £300 for that. I quite liked the idea of the Tutoro chain oilers which are simple and only release oil when the bike is moving and the suspension is moving. Still a bit dearer at around £100 but they look good to me I may buy one in the future, depending on how I get along with the Loobman. Reservoir under the back seat.
  13. It was all that fucking around changing hosts. It was a right pain trying to get on when that was happening. I am sure they will all drift back now things have settled down.
  14. Six doesn't come across as a posh entitled Hooray on here Other things maybe but not that
  15. You wouldn't believe how many of the entitled obnoxious bastards we get here mate. For some reason Fowey is seen as a bit upmarket and expensive and that brings a particular type of arse wipe. I fecking hate them, I hardly go down town in the season. Plenty down here this week as its half term. If I had my way I would live in the middle of Bodmin moor away from them all.
  16. Been out in the cliffs withe the Dear boy. Managed to keep my feet dry for a change. some pretty light but still rain dodging.
  17. Wellies get a bit uncomfortable on a 6 mile walk, to be honest I slipped into a puddle that was deeper than it looked Lucky I didn't fall on my arse.
  18. Looks like the flat battery on the Trans Alp wasn't Freddies faut after all. It was down to Honda UK fitting a tracker. Seems that he likes the Trans Alp after all. Does it make me a bad person because I was itching for him to drop it when he was fucking around in a wood trying to destroy the clutch?
