  1. I think peak torque is around 6500 rpm and peak power around 8500 rpm on the CB500 motor, I don't see the point in revving the shit out of it constantly. A good thrash now and again shouldn't hurt it but don't understand why you would need to do it all the time or why that would be a positive thing to do.
  2. It will but I wouldn't get to hung up on what video matey says ride normally, don't lug (really low revs in high gear) your bike and all should be fine. He is right technically.
  3. Your Mrs seems pretty capable mate
  4. Just an up date by the look at it, new dash and styling. I like the NX, looks cool. Not so keen on the R version, I think an R should actually be quick rather than just look like it. Not much to worry as the 500 range are pretty damn good bikes in the first place.
  5. I have been adding some stuff, which to be honest should have been there as standard. bit pissed off really as I managed to scratch the paint off the singing arm. Get some touch up at the weekend but still a pisser.
  6. That is a stunning motor which is high on my list to.
  7. XL600 with a sexy dress? Nice looking bike.
  8. I’m under no illusions about the practicality of this bike but my god look at it. Just stunning and that green straight from the 1970’s. The sound they make is something to behold. Perfect for me, if I ever come into enough money to have a toy collection this would right at the top of the list. Come on then what floats your two wheeled boat so to speak. Not something you would necessarily want to ride everyday but something that just ticks the box.
  9. Also have a trawl around Temu, and the like, there is bound to be a suitable shroud for not much.
  10. I enjoy watching, dunno if I would want to do it.
  11. Not that I know of mate, chubby slapheads are pretty common you know
  12. Right you have convinced me I am off to get one.
  13. It's a phrase down here for a can't be arsed day. Definitely got that today, loads to do and can't be arsed to do any of it. Sitting here waiting for the rugby to start so I can watch that. Don't know why really no work last night so it is not as if I am tired. Loads of songs to learn, set list to compose for my singing group, Hornet to clean, goodies to bolt on the Hornet, blinds to put up fo the devil daughter. Can't be arsed.
  14. I don't get it either mate, and mine had some chinky chinzy bolt ons and a top box And I have bought its bigger brother. . I know you don't like the Himalayans but they have a real cult following now, bit like Air Head Boxer BMW's, Land Rovers, Beatles, VW Buses and the like. They are a thing. I genuinely liked mine and will probably have another just not as daily transport.
  15. Fuck me am I gonna catch it now
  16. Sorry missed this Pete. Pros on the forum for me are: Some very interesting people who do interesting things, live in interesting places and will talk about it. We can talk about bikes without a lot of the bullshit 180 mph on public roads type stories. Some very genuine people. No tolerance of Pomposity. No Politics, mostly. Some genuinely weird fuckers here. Cons: Those fucking mange photos. Some spiteful pile on type of nit picking, wind ups and bullying. There are a lot of bikes and bike type stuff that people avoid talking about because the pile on culture think they are shit. I think we are missing a lot of interesting content as a result. The sheer volume of homophobia, misogyny and obsession with bumming type comments. I grew up in the 1970's and understand the humour but there are less and less of us now and it just doesn't fly today, if you want to recruit new members and grow the forum. You may not want to change the dynamic of the place. But don't underestimate how many people will walk away from this type of stuff though, even in our own age group. Sometimes being a member of this place feels like a guilty secret rather than something I would recommend to my mates. Now don't take anything I have said as an attack on anyone, it's not meant that way. You asked for what I thought and here it is. I do think this is a great forum with a good community, I enjoy spending time here.
  17. I was on the way home by 23:45. Doesn't happen often but very nice when it does.
  18. Well that was a turn up just got sent home from work on full pay as there was no clinician for my shift. Once I had done my daily stuff no clinician means nothing for me to do so off I fucked home. My own bed tonight
  19. Had a play with the settings on my bike now it is nearly run it. Full power with no traction control is a bit hairy, been a very long time since I got the front wheel up. Traction control back on quick smart, and chill, don't intend to do that again. .
