  1. I like the Viper, comfy with built in coms. Bit noisy for any sort of fast travelling but ok for local stuff.
  2. Couple of showers but nothing much. Going to be good tomorrow as well.
  3. Out for a bimble after my night shift.
  4. Daft fecker gets soaked then goes on to a very interesting Motorcycle shop.
  5. Just finished watching Stonemouth on the BBC liked that. Also The Tower series two on the BBC. Actually gotta give the Mrs her due as the new sofas she got as part of my Hornet were very comfy.
  6. More than 10% over and they will do you here.
  7. Fuck me track days, I used to do them when I first gave up rugby, in my Saabs. I had to ditch them when my kids came along, breaking cars is an expensive hobby plus I wasn't very good. Not really unhinged enough. The being part of a team and working together for a common goal was what I missed about the rugby. The adrenaline rush was there on track days but I found I needed more than that. I get that rush now from singing solos, but I am still part of the choir or one of the lads in the team so to speak.
  8. I struggled with that when I had to give up. I tried lots of things but luckily found choir which for me filled the void. Not suggesting you try that but enjoy your rugby while you can and do what is needed to to keep your mental health on an even keel.
  9. My BMI was way up when I was playing for Lankelly, at 5’8” and 16 stone. Not claiming body perfection but I was carrying much more muscle then. Front row obviously. Only played in Cornwall 1, level 9, I think but nobody really talked about that then.
  10. Working tonight and Sunday night. Singing in a Concert on Saturday night and going to Redruth Christmas Choir practice on Sunday afternoon. Haven't been on the Hornet for 2 days so will put that right as well.
  11. I like that, be interesting how much it is.
  12. I think he may be retrieving an empty that floated away from the Legion. The empties cage is on that side of the building and they often have more empties than room in the cage.
  13. Yep two or three times a year.
  14. Has been known. All the pubs have slate floors so a few inches of flooding is fine as long as you have the right footwear or don’t mind padding. Not joking, have done it on many a spring tide in the past.
  15. Managed to get out for a couple of hours this morning put another 50 miles on the Hornet. This bike is a hooligan, as it loosens up. Down on Fowey town quay You know it’s coming on to high tides when they start tying their sheds down
  16. My RD400D, which I had Stan Stephens ruin for me was around that.
  17. I can remember my R100's getting around 40 mpg and I never thought that was bad.
  18. I can see that, of course my experience is from getting off a almost exactly the same, in terms of size, bike with 47 bhp to one with a quite a bit more so for me if already feels quite a bit faster. Once run in I am sure it will be shockingly quick for me.
  19. Yep forgot about that The CB500 was always sitting between 80 and 90 mpg on the dash which was a little optimistic the Hornet is currently sitting at 67 mpg on the dash but I am sure that will go down once it is run in and I can play with it a bit more.
  20. Do you know that was my first thought, ribbed for your pleasure, but I censored myself.
  21. Just done the first 300 miles on my Hornet so halfway to running it in and the first service. For me it is interesting in comparison to my CB500. It genuinely doesn't feel any bigger at all but the brakes are much better and the front dives less. It copes with my fat arse better than the 500 in terms of suspension. I haven't used full power mode (which really only controls the throttle response not actual power) or full throttle yet but I have had it up to 6k revs and it is pulling hard then. It wants to go. It is very easy to bimble around on and very mild mannered until the revs get up. I notice my hands and chest are colder without a screen or handguards, it has the same heated grips as my CB500 had and I am using them more now with no handguards. It is surprisingly quiet at 70mph, no buffeting as such. I have read that is to do with the shape of the headlight and front bodywork, maybe. I love the sound it makes. The Honda Road Sync Bluetooth app is awkward to use and does not work well with an iPhone which is probably Apple being barstewards. I can't see me using it in the future unless the App improves. I don't really care as the setup I had before with a usb charger and Quadlock works just as well on the Hornet as it did on the CB500. The mudguards on the bike are rubbish. I have already got a Fender Extenda for the front. Not sure what to do about the back yet, I have little faith in huggers. I can see me sending more money to SW Motech for a rack and pannier frames, I really miss not being able to carry anything. After the scratch experience with the CB500 I am going to stay away from Bagster tank covers and bags. Thinking about a tank bag that is ring mounted but am going to do a little research before spunking any money on one. On the whole I am really pleased with the bike, seems made for me, there really isn't much that I want to improve apart from the mudguards.
