Thats my sort of comment ya nob. Just old age. I don't under stand the old folk that want to shove on all sort of pin stripes and stickers, and then lacquer over the top. Messed up some good paint work, although it'll have a respray later. Simon thinks like me, get it on the road and better it along the way. It's a real good starting point for it's age. I suspect a slight head gasket prob but not worried as I'll be assisting him doing a full rebuild along the way.

Right, I knew someone would ask this. Previous owner has stuck all sorts of stickers on and later died. Wife of said owner was trying to tell us it was something special. Brooklands was mentioned but that's crap. It's had all sorts of changes in its life but I believe the log book says, 3.0, No S which makes sense as it's an Ghia automatic. Wife said it's now got a Granada engine which is a disappointment but I'm sure it's just a difference in camshaft. I've been told of lots of stories of bigger valved heads but talking to engine builders it's bull. Time will tell as "Simon the owner" will now research this big time. If you have info Bob it would be appreciated?

Sorry, I'll get some pics next time round. We freed the rear brake by taking off the rear drum, the other side someone had been there before and removed the shoes? Then we could push it outside the garage. Got it back to his home and within 1/2 hour we had it running. Not for too long as I wasn't sure the water was fully circulating but long enough to dump the old oil. Took some of the hoses off and there's plenty of crap in there so stripped off loads of other hoses so we can flush it out later. Both front calipers sized but with new cylinders on the rear we've now got some braking. Gaggin to take it down the road. Automatic gearbox engaged drive and reverse too. Had to leave to get my second jab and left him to give it a good scrub. O and yes, very lucky for the price he gave. It's a German made one and other than a couple of small places in bloody good condition bar the accident damage.

Young lad I know has had a couple of 250s, Honda engines. Both been good bikes.

Spot on Pedro.

Off to help a friend collect a 1980 3ltr capri in a bit. Gonna talk him into firing it up if we can, only been standing 30 years after a very small accident. Jab part 2 at 4pm then watch the F1 qually with a beer or 3.

Not another fuckin rabbit.

No one I knew liked Siouxsie back then. Didn't like everything they did but Spellbound was an excellent track to name one..

It was just a matter of opening the loom to get to the coloured wires in the alarms I've removed. As this was factory fitted I'm not sure if that method is possible. Sounds like it's becoming a ball ache.

Should see cars now.

She won't go on the back of my bike since she passed her test. It's great she rides her own bike as she can tell me when I've left an indicator on, or missed a turn or,,,,
-
I hear that a lot. Bloody bike will only go as fast as you tell it too. I have "moments", admittedly but most of the time I'm bimbling it around.
-
I took one of a Daytona for a friend. It really wasn't that bad although I confess to having a couple of wires spare but left them insulated and all was well. Wires from the alarm will take power and earth by joining into the loom. Others will "break" wires so you have to rejoin colours. Can't explain it better as I'm drinking.

Well that cleared that one up then.

Only to fit it's monthly headlight.

and I'm enjoying it.

Gonna have to come back to this, looking forward to it.

Get a go on one Pete, just for the shit of it. Better still the MT09, lighter still I'd guess and a hooligan engine mode. Here here. I'd agree until you're moving it around back and forwards by the bars.

Bloody marvellous day, didn't get out till dinner time so we just kept going. Found a wide open spot to stop and this was it. (other than a fuel stop). Somewhere between Harleston and wymondham. Poor effort but it was just a ball ache to stop.

Is that a quote from the plod.

Don't know but it feels so much lighter. Faster engine too. But not as roomy/comfortable as the S10.
-
It is heavy but like many bikes once riding it's a great bike and you don't feel that weight at all, I even had some fun with it off road, light trails mind. My daughter who's been on the back of most of my bikes said it was the most comfy.

All still wearing masks, other than the odd forgetful.
