Same mod used for the TDM900s, made no difference starting but did help some with the low rev stutter. As for noise I can't remember and now I have the top of the box removed on mine and loving the induction noise.

Once you get a few bits and bobs out of the way they're not to bad. Def within you capabilities, if you can be arsed.
