    Electric Cars

probably more. It's the same bollards as when the constructer gives mpg figures, the test "normes" are stupidly concieved to give optimum conditions. The electric bikes we do, be they high end or cheap shit are the same, official figures are always with no hills or wind ( or wind resistance cos they're cooked up on a rolling road, no rolling resistance from the front wheel ( cos of rolling road) at an optimum stable speed tyres over inflated, with a new battery charged in laboratory optimum conditions, and a rider weighing 50 to 60 kilos. that gets them their 100km figure. Sit me on the bloody thing, outside, with a year old battery charged form a 220v socket in normal road conditions, then your looking at 60 km ish or 110lm/h for about 20 minutes. but then I suppose if they were actually honest about it, they wouldn't sell any....

  7. 300€! FFS! it cost my wife and daughter less than that to see Iron Maiden live in Paris including the trip there and the parking...
  8. well I went riding yesterday and the weather was shit today. spent all morning trying to get wife's laptop working it no longer recognises our wifi router... picks up 3 other networks that are nothing to do with us but refuses to acknowledge the esixtance of our livebox thingumajig. this is a netwrok it connects to automatically for the last 5 years or so. Network is running fine cos my laptop and all our phones are wifi-ing away on it like there's no tomorrow. after much searching ( cos I haven't a f'kin clue what i'm looking for) the thing generates a message window saying that network searching is switched off ( so how the fuck does it ind the other networks then...?) I check this out and it is switched on. It now tells me that none of the networks it usually connects to are within range ( it is about half way between the wifi router and my laptop which works fine, the other three networks are our neighbours and all waaaaay further away.) There was some swearing and after resetting network settings and trying to install a network automatically and then manually I gave up and said fuck it. we went to a freinds house for lunch and came back home at about 6pm. Mrs Moon switched poota on and lo and bahold it connected automatically as if nothing had happened. I fukin Hate computors!
  9. well that would nearly double it's horsepower...
  10. so far the chinese are only doing the 125 and 50's on their own, they are waaaaaay off pruducing anything with more power than that.
  11. I think @Saul's Enfield has had a bastard love child with Pete's ex chinese BMW... This turned up at work last week. MASAI 125 " Trail Adventure" on sale from march...3690€ do you reckon it'll sell? So I've already told tham it needs spoked wheels and handguards...
  12. well by bike got Fucking blown off the side stand by the wind this afternoon! Never had that happen before. Smashed the bloody pannier lid too. weather was okayish this morning ( +ve temperatures & sunny) so I decided to take the bike down to Louhans rather than the car. I had to visit "feu" parents in law's house as brother in law was there last week and incapable of putting some water pressure in the boiler without flooding the place. I used the autoroute a bit there and back cos I wasn't sure how long the repairs were going to take. Bloody quick job in fact cos there was already a tap on the offending pipe so I just needed to shut it with a pair of grips and open the stop cock to refill the boiler. As it took 10 minutes rather then a couple of hours and involved zero trips to the plumbing suppliers I decided to call on a mate in town. I pulled up at his place and the wind, which had been increasing all morning, was now really blustery and his house faced right into the teeth of it. I parked up infront of his gate, got off, walked round the bike, removed lid and ear plugs and had by back to the bike whilst I rang the bell. I heard an almighty "CRUMP" from behind me and the bloody bike was on it's right flank. Rero scratched, brake lever bent slightly forward and right pannier forward outboard edge broken off leaving 2 holes through the ford outboard vertil coner of the box. Could have been worse, I reckon I can glue that up at home. Once I got home I realised that at some point on the journey the aluminium sheet covering the centre section of the box obviously flew off. Anybody got a spare lid for a Triumph right hand side case to fit an 800xc? That ally cover is 75€ on Triumph online FFS the route I took, ish. no pics cos it was too cold and windy in th emorning and on the road home i was too pissed off. 430km all told.

    Proof …

Maybe I'm just a little more subtle about it than @XTreme ? Though my replying " you wanted out, you got out, now fuck off!" to qny mention of brexit would ive it away somewhat. Each time I go back for a visit I like the UK less and consistently fail to imagine ANY circumstances that would entice me back there for anything more than a short visit. ( I am sure there ARE some nice places still, I just haven't found them)
  14. Croatia just moved up into the Eurozone. Turkey, Hungary and the Czech's are each trying to mov up one notch, we haven't got time to deal with whingeing drama Queens as well... You wanted out, made the whole thing as difficult and petty as possible fro everyone, now you can FUCK OFF! sorry, but it needs saying.

  16. Its surely a fuck up on my part but if i try and connect to motorcycleriders.net on the putor ( windows 10 and google chrome) it opens the “downloads” window as if i was asking it to download and save a file. Doesnt matter if i go via my existing bookmark or i initiate a new search, same story. Works fine from the phone though. only thing i did recently was erase browsing history, cache, temp files etc which i do about once a month and its never been a probleme before. any ideas?
  17. What you want is a nice super Bee. But shush, we havent even got one of those yet, the prototypes went to germany and the Uk, the Uk one has dissapeared into the MOD who are “testing” it… the super bee. The storm bee is the only one i e been on that isnt riduclously small.

  19. naah, they'd just tell me to stop eating anything that has any taste of flavour and only eat stuff that tastes like shit, looks like shit and has no gustative value makeing meal times a simple refulling excercise by removing all and any concept of pleasure.
  20. 'Twas fun at work today, everyone back fom a few days off over Christmas to start the year with a whole new IT system new database, new system and I think new servers, so no one knows how any of it is supposed to work, As a cost cutting excercise, our part of the building is now running from a generator cos the fuel cost is less than the electricity cost, but it kept shutting down so we were struggling to learn and use a whole new computer system with reppetitive power outages. Luckily my putor and main screen are on an inverter thingy but that only really allows you time to shut down properly rather than loose anything you haven't saved... The director had had one good idea though, and that was to tell all our clients that we weren't open till tomorrow so at least we weren't trying to deal with that at the same time. The genny problem turned out to be that the phases were unequally loaded so once that got rewired more closely to how it should be the power supply settled down, and to my amazement the ney IT system, or at least the part that concerns me, seems to me far more intuitive and user friendly than the old one so, all good in the end.
  21. Do they take fat SOG's? no point showing this lot if they don't
