Just finished changing the front tyre on the XR. i must be rusty or old as it took me a while to do and then the tube popped because it wasn't installed correctly, so it was take the tube out again and fit a new one. The tyre i had has been in the shed so long its hard as hell

you do if you want to ride the bike tomorrow when you take the chance things can turn out ok. I've been out on days that had terrible forecasts but had a great day because it was only the odd shower or i managed to stay in front of the weather, sometimes you just got to say fuck it and go

Its under them orrible tomatoes

I was looking at the info for the dog and it's over £2500 in parts and service items since i bought it and i haven't filled the cost of everything. I only paid £800 for the bike
-
That's my problem as well LOL
-
Cheers Yen you just reminded me i have no idea the last time i checked the spark plug
-
Anyone else keep a record of their service info, I created an excel spread sheet to record what I've been doing to each bike but don't always fill it in and stopped putting the cost of stuff in as it was getting scary This is the one for the XR

It's been pissing down all day so thought i'd do a little maintenance on the XR The mounting rubbers on the fuel tank had gone hard and the tank was moving about so replaced them and since i had the tank off i checked the valve clearances, all ok just had to loosen off one of the exhaust valves as it was a little tighter than the others. I also decided to remove the exhaust manifold stud nuts one at a time to copper grease them as they can seize and snap the studs all came undone ok, Last job was to clean the air filter, I'm embarrassed to say i think I've neglected this job for a while which not like me to let it get this bad i'm not even going to clean it just ordered two new air filters. The clean one i fitted is showing signs of age related deterioration so that will be binned as well when the new ones arrive

I'm a simple person when it comes to food. meat and potato's like that is all i want but almost every restaurant i go in wants to spoil the meat by cooking it in something or covering it in some kind of sauce

Just got in from some trail riding in the pissing rain, someone i know was asking about the XTrainer a few nights ago and he has a CRF300L, so i said we could meet up and swap so we both get a good feel for the bikes. He obviously loved the Beta and after we covered a good variation of terrain in shit conditions i have decided i can live with the 300L. It's not a very inspiring bike to ride but it just does everything well and cheaply which is something that sort of goes against the way i normally choose bikes, everything about it just makes sense but i don't by with my head LOL, This 300L rode a lot better than the one i rode in Barmouth last year, I've had in the back of my head there was something not right about the set up of that one be it tyres or suspension i don't know but the one i rode today i was a lot more confident on. So all i need is some space now, and there's the problem i ain't selling a bike to make room so i cant see me getting one

Best thing i done was ditch the CV carb on mine for a flat slide, plus you get a nice whistle from the throttle slide as you pull away now sounds cool. Only down side is i bought the carb throttle and cable all together and i have no idea what throttle cable will fit it as a replacement when it finally goes

I wanted to use the funny emoji but it's just as sad as it is funny, i know it's your family Pete but i have to say this fucking freeloading twats
-
Yes i was knackered after myself, i tend to wash bikes because that's the easiest way to find things that need fixing, them getting clean is just a side effect of looking for faults LOL
