It don't work like that here you get your bike back after you pay the bill but obviously if the guy doing the work is a mate that's different. The Honda dealer i was going to in the 90's was great i used to phone up and order all sorts of parts then go and pick them up and pay when they arrived, when he closed his mechanic reopened his shop as a service and MOT shop and he said myself and a few others were the only ones to have that service anyone else would have to pay a non refundable deposit up front before said parts would be ordered. Cut down two dead trees behind where i park my works van and logged them up for firewood they were only about 7ft high as i took the tops off them years ago not sure if that killed them. Anyhow got the start of a nice pile of firewood for next winter started

I think it was a complement as in the bikes would survive anything and run forever. As for the Dullville it doesn't matter how good something handles or rides how reliable it is or cheap it is to run at some point looks have to devalue its good points, for me if the dullville was a woman the only way i'd ride it or be seen in public with it is if it had a bag on it's head, come to think of it i'd put a bag on my head as well just in case the dullville's one ripped off
