My issue with lithium batteries is when people fit them to bikes that were not designed to use them, yes they work when everything on the bike works 100% but when things are not quite right with the bike is when the problems start. I recently read about someone who had fitted a Lithium battery to a 2017 Africa Twin which didn't come fitted with one from new. He said he was riding along and the bike just died not a single light on the dash and he had to get it recovered. When looking into the problem he found the battery had gone into safe mode and was unrecoverable so a new battery was needed, once fitted he then found his bike wasn't charging the battery because his reg/rec had failed and in his mind that was why the battery failed but in reality it was the other way around the reg/rec had failed because his battery had switched off while the engine was running. Lithium batteries are fantastic when used on what their designed for but i wont be changing the lead acid for lithium on any of my bikes. my 2016 Africa Twin is still on the original battery and when that fails which could be any day now i will be replacing it with the same one.

I think the T700 is going to be the next transalp everyone seems to have them now as they seem to be good at everything. The TRF big bike ride i was looking at earlier had 9 bikes on it, 4 were T700's and when i was coming back from north wales a week or so ago i counted 17 of them going in the opposite direction all covered in dirt. Although now i think of it they might have been from the yamaha off road experience it was up that way

I had the 1986 first year of the gear driven cams what an over engineered bike i put over 500000 miles on it, It got me into a lot of trouble over the four years i owned it mainly because i was a fucking idiot Mine was the same as this and i would definitely recommend one EDIT just noticed the wheels are wrong colour they would have been white from the factory and no silver on the tank Like this one

They are all about 3 years old. My transporter is also a 2017 and has the 7 speed duel clutch transmission its a dream to drive, I've put 75000 miles on it so far. He usually changes them at 100000 miles i'm praying for another auto i don't think i could go back to manual now

I got to be honest if i was going to buy a van it would be a transit with a medium roof just for the standing room mainly because VW don't do anything like it
-
I've logged on here and been distracted elsewhere and gone away for hours many times

Sorry Bob We have 3 transit customs in work and they are shit compared to the transporters, we have 3 of them, 2 of them went in for new injectors at 16000 miles when we said we have another shall we bring it down they said ford know its an issue but wont do anything about it until you break down. another fault was the wiper motor packed in and we had another where it wouldn't start, lights on but when you turned the key nothing checked all the fuses and nothing battery is in the most ridiculous place to get at so i thought fuck it and called recovery. They took it away and found a blown fuse in with the battery easy enough you'd think but no had to plug it into a diagnostic tool to reset everything before it would start. I've probably put more than half a million miles on various transporters over the years and i cant think of any that let me down. The only thing the transits we got have the advantage is their mid tops so you can stand up in them and are good to work out of.

Trouble is there's lots of work for electricians at the moment the 6 we made redundant in February were all working within 2 weeks so yes they can walk straight into another job so the threat of losing their job isn't a threat to them but they wont know how good they have it now until they move on which to be honest i hope some do move on it will make my job so much easier

When i was booking my covid test one of the questions the girl on the phone asked was what gender are you Male, Female or other without thinking my reply was "what a fucking ridiculous question i am a man" to which she laughed and whispered yes i agree
