As far as i'm aware Dawn and Steve haven't had a bike in years now. i know he has been suffering with tinnitus for a long time and couldn't put up with the wind noise on the bike don't know why Dawn packed it in though

I have to use the JT ones as the standard sprocket wouldn't work with my mod on the XR, the chemical metal stops any movement its on there solid, i have been wondering how it will come off when it needs to but ill worry about that next sprocket change
-
Just ordered one for the 650 so i have it here when i need it
-
I've just nocked something up for the XR there's more wear on the shaft than i like so looked at making something to use all the shaft. I ended up annealing the old sprocket cutting the teeth off and then turning it down to the same diameter as the sprocket retainer. Then i drilled and tapped the sides so a grub screw would tighten down into the groove the sprocket retainer normally sits in. The JT sprockets got a shoulder on them that normally faces out i turned it around so it faces in so you have to push it onto the unused part of the shaft to get it to line up with the chain and with the modified sprocket re hardened and bolted to it it ends up covering all the shaft. I did use a chemical metal as i pushed the sprocket on to build up the worn part of the shaft so it's not just the new part of the shaft taking the strain. I've put about 500 miles on it now and everything seems good. the four screws around the sprocket are just there to cap off the grub screws and to keep the crap out

How much wear is on the splines or are you putting it on to prevent it
