  1. I had a 1987 range rover, it is the only car i had that i could actually see the fuel needle moving when i had it shifting on a motorway
  2. when i used to meet my mates on my YZ they were all on XL and XT's i remember them taking the fuel cap off to look in the tank and saying there's enough for today. i would have 2 gallons in the tank a gallon in a rucksack on my back and i'd still have to stop for fuel on the way back
  3. The old two strokes i always found more fun when they started fitting power valves to smooth the power out it sort of spoilt it for me but they are still fun. The last 2 stroke road bike i had a go on was a suzuki RGV250 i found the only way i could ride it was flat out incredible machine on the twisty roads around here
  4. Yes it was good fun but i never raced it just used it for trail riding, it was road registered. Used to consume rear tyres chains and sprockets and fuel at an alarming rate
  5. Shhh don't go there you'll start Bruce off
  6. Worst bike i had for fuel was that old YZ490 i could get it down to 9 mpg when i was having fun
  7. And that was just a 3 cylinder outboard motor don't ask Bruce how much his cruiser does to the gallon its likely to send him into a depression
  8. The thing my mate had used almost 5 gallons of petrol to do about 16 mile on the way out and then we had to wait for the tide to turn to come back in because we would have run out of fuel going against the tide long before where we set off.
  9. @Bruce Yes i know how speed is totally different on water compared to land. When my dull mate first had a boat i took it out off Penarth towards the Severn bridge there was a little swell there and when i wound it up it felt like i was doing 120 and smashing into the waves i thought it was going to break apart, then there was the debris to avoid floating in the water it was exciting stuff but we were only doing 35 knots
  10. What kind of speed will it get up to Bruce
  11. Stop wasting your time teasing Bruce and get on with the new bike report
  12. you tell him @boboneleg Well i picked up what i wanted from our workshop, went up the Merthyr valley and home the Cynon valley and i could have stayed out all day it was 3.5°c but felt a lot warmer a couple of photos for proof
  13. I've got to go to our workshop to pick up some documents for work on Monday, Its cold and wet not very nice out there, now do i take the van or brave the weather and take the opportunity to ride with a legitimate reason What a stupid fucking question see you all later
  14. This reminded me of this, many years ago i was involved with the installation of a small wind turbine to help power some remote containers to transmit telemetry from the elan valley to the control hub 45 miles south as the crow fly's, it was supposed to be a state of the art wind turbine. I was called back up there a few months later as they were having problems with a diesel generator, when i asked how the wind turbine was doing they said it failed in the first two weeks as the propeller blades blew off, they found one of them about half a mile away
  15. Shania is much more of a woman all the bits in the right places for me, you can keep the drummer
  16. I'm looking forward to visiting my regular dogging spot their going to be gagging for it
  17. The biggest problem i can see happening is if they allow any travel the whole country is going to move all at once and everywhere will be heaving which is my worst nightmare so i'm happy to wait it out
  18. I've written off this year again so not making any plans just going to see what happens as the year unfolds
  19. Once I've got to know a few there i shall be asking questions
  20. With the exception of the HSE being there it's like nothing happened. As a company we were shitting ourselves when we heard the news because we had just finished installing a new gas alarm system there
  21. I was in Avonmouth today and had to phone gap tool hire for some things and i thought @boboneleg had changed jobs because the guy on the phone was so much like him but i suppose he could say that about any welsh guy I'll be working on this site for the next week or two https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/news/bristol-news/avonmouth-explosion-everything-know-after-4763911
  22. I've probably only been to the hairdressers or barbers as us men call them once in the last 20 years and that was because a Turkish one opened up down the road a few years ago and they done the full works, beard ears nose so i went in to check it out and nodded off in the chair proper old man style so i didn't go again
  23. Same here Clive i get the boy to cut it for me probably the only thing he does all week ?
