Another Day.......Another Oil and Filter Change!
Sir Fallsalot replied to XTreme's topic in MOTORCYCLE CHAT
Nice and clean there Pete i don't know why but once the oil is out of the bike i turn into Stan and Ollie and end up kicking or tripping over the waste oil container and getting it everywhere -
I thought you would like to see mine Tym its just like a KLR battered and badly modified but painted orange to disguise it ?

I have a mate who is totally useless with all things mechanical. A while ago he asked me if i thought he would be able to change the cam chain on his bike himself, i said you got no chance, he said why I've seen videos it doesn't look that difficult. My reply was because the week before when you topped up the 2 stroke oil on your brothers MTX125 you poured it in the coolant header tank and didn't know it was wrong until i pointed it out to you

I've just been reading a post on the CRF page some guy winging about changing the oil. This is his post I tried to do my 1st Oil and Filter change WTF.. The manual is useless! I over filled the oil based on 4.1 litres and the drain plugs WTF !!! The bash plate needs holes for the Filter replacement and access to the drains. !!!! What a tool, put a bit less than what the manual says and then warm the bike up, check the oil and top up if necessary, obviously really difficult. The drain plugs holy shit there's two of them what the fuck do i do now and the bash plate how the fuck do i get at the filter and drain plugs with that in the way remove three bolts takes a minute to take off if your slow and of course this is all Honda's fault, got nothing to do with him being a useless twat I'm starting to think you meet the biggest twats on a Honda LOL

I stand corrected ?

You might want to seek some advice about that clutch elsewhere, Unless they've changed things recently the clutch on a GS is dry and has no contact with any oil other than the usual leaky crank shaft oil seal

You could be 6' if you didn't mind the right leg being shorter ?

I keep thinking i want to sell my CB1000 i never use it' parts are difficult to get hold of and so is the rear tyre' but every time i take it out i just think the same, why do i want to sell it i love riding it. And if i did sell it I would only get the price i paid for the new exhaust, clutch and tyres i put on it, so in my head i would be giving the bike away.

The DR650 is about 19kg (41lb) lighter than the RE, the only down side is the DR is a lot taller but that can be sorted if needed

And then you get that quote "just doing what the bike was designed for" It didn't go down well with some when i pointed out the bike was designed to wear the tyres out before the bodywork.

I think he spends too much time in wales, when he's over he's showing me around my own country its not right

I've never bought into this adventure stuff that gets thrown about everywhere, to me the word Adventure just adds money to products for wannabees to buy. Every time i ride doesn't matter if its 5 mile or 500 mile its what i consider an adventure.

Whats the point when he could just google a random photo of a bike and pass it off as his, we'll never know

Their mood will probably change again when they find out your from Swansea
