  1. My day yesterday started at 1am with my daughter on the phone panicking as her car had broken down, when i got there she was on a steep hill with her foot on the brake stopping it from rolling into the parked car behind her she said it was rolling back with he handbrake on, it was just raising the suspension when she released the brake so it wasn't rolling back she was stressing over nothing. I got in and the gear lever is doing nothing but it was stuck in gear and i was able to pull it away from the parked car with a bit of burning clutch and park it out the way, it was gone 2am after i sorted that out, i couldn't get back to sleep until an hour before i was due to get up to go out on the bike. Met Gary the sun was shining and it was a comfortable temperature. We had a good day riding some tough lanes until around 3pm when the heavens opened at the furthest point from home i got soaked in minutes got home around 19:30 aching like hell and the knee supports i wore for the fist time rubbed the backs of my knees raw so they wont be used again, it did dry up on the way home where i took the only photo of the day. After a shower and some grub I went out and brought the daughters car home. Had a look at the daughters car this morning and one of the gear selector cables is broken so its a job for the garage, i am now going to spend the rest of the day recovering from yesterday
  2. Nice one Bob I've been having the same feelings about the two Africa twins but really enjoyed riding them today same thing every time i ride them. I shall have to mention Bradford on Avon to the wife looks like the kind of place she would like mooching about without me of course LOL
  3. Spent all that time rebuilding it and then revs the guts out of it
  4. My something today started by fiddling with the XR's carb trying to get rid of a dead spot off idle i haven't noticed before, only thing different is i fitted the snorkel back on the air box and fitted a Vortip in the exhaust. Played about for an hour or so and i have decided to start with the stock jetting and go from there so ordered the stock pilot jet. Then i fired up the Beta to make sure everything is ok for a ride tomorrow which it was, so then i dragged the CRF1000 out to give it a run and a wash, the bloody thing was still covered in the flies from a rally i done around this time last year. Since i had dug that deep into the garage it exposed the old Africa Twin so just spent an hour riding that about it's such a nice bike to ride i seem to appreciate it more now my need for speed has almost gone.

  7. On my way back from Pembroke Dock today i saw a shit load of scooters heading to the scooter rally in Tenby this weekend, didn't spot Clive in amongst them though, i can just picture the night clubs there this weekend
  8. I know right, what total twat does that
  9. My work shouldn't make too much mess, i dread to think what mess National grid is going to make when they dig the trench for the new cable, its going to be over 300m long straight through the whole garden
  10. Had an interesting site visit today to a large house north of Ross on Wye. Just an old lady living in there now her husband passed away a few years ago. I will be digging her lawn up to lay a concrete slab for a new kiosk to sit on and digging a trench from the slab to the manhole for a duct. There were deer roaming around when i was there lovely place enough garden to keep Clive busy for the rest of his life
  11. Cant fault the dash cams when they work in your favour, my daughter had a real easy claim after someone pulled out of a junction into the side of her car and then tried to blame her for it. Just remember to hide them if you've been a cock
  12. I have found the reason i ride the bike has changed over the years, for most of my biking life i didn't need a reason or a destination to ride i would just go and see where the front wheel took me, now with the road bike i seem to have to have a destination to get it out other wise i don't bother. I still go out just to ride with the trail bikes as i still feel like i want to go out on them hope that don't change.
  13. The damage on the radiator looks like the cooling fins have been flattened easy to straighten with a small flat blade screwdriver a right pain in the arse to do but worth doing in your climate as it helps the cooling. Keep the jet wash away from the fins they flatten easy don't ask how i know.
