Lid Fastening - Double-D Ring or Micro Buckle?
Sir Fallsalot replied to Tango's topic in MOTORCYCLE CHAT
I found the D ring too fiddly especially with gloves on. I have only had one with the micro buckle rub my neck turned out i hadn't positioned the protective padding behind it properly, it was ok once i got that right -
Any particular paint you use on those and does it last my wheels are desperate for a refurb even a shit spray job would be an improvement

I was in my bosses Audi which had an electronic hand brake, i pulled up to a barrier and put the handbrake on while i waited for it to be opened when it opened do you think i could turn the bloody thing off i had to phone the boss to ask him how and after i could see it on the dashboard telling me what to do i missed that in my panic
-
And how i didn't spot this before it went to the powder coaters i don't know. Cracked the paint straightening it out FFS
-
I have spent the morning fitting the bearings in the the swingarm for the dog and swishing rush killer around inside where they couldn't get the powder coat, after its all dry i will be swishing around something like waxoyl to keep any future rust at bay. I couldn't work out how the old swingarm was full of water until after swishing the rust killer around bloody thing leaks like a sieve, it would let water in half way up the swing arm where I've circled in the photo but there were no holes to let it back out so i will be sealing the seams where it gets in, i drilled holes to let it out before it went to the powder coaters and i have to get some paint down inside of the legs of the swingarm.

I think the one she has now is the last of the good ones not sure what we will replace it with when the time comes
-
I think I've said this before on here but when we got the first Civic the wife's friend said why have you got an old mans car and kept on about it all the time, she had just bought one of those Peugeot 106cc things, it spent almost all of it's first year in the garage and she done more miles in the courteously car than her new car and after the first year she refused to have it back it was a plie of shit i couldn't help rubbing her nose in it every time i was in the civic and seen her
-
Went out the garage and remembered what i was going to say LOL. Got my swing arm back today looking all shiny probably be fucked after the first ride though.

This is just a weird way of finding out who is going to be the giver or the taker isn't it

Second hand cars is a bloody mine field, i bought one for the misses back in the late 90's but when driving it the temperature gauge was indicating it was getting hot i checked it out and it showed all signs of a head gasket problem, took it back and they said they fixed it but now the temp gauge didn't move, all the fuckers had done was take the thermostat out and fill the cooling system with rad weld so i took it back and got my cash back the guy was very good about it and even said i could keep the car for a few weeks after i had my cash back to see if it was ok but i just had that gut feeling about it and just moved on. Ended up borrowing some cash and bought a 6 month old Honda Civic from a main dealer still had 3 years warranty on free MOT's for life and it was £3000 cheaper than a new one. Had that one for 17 trouble free years, the MOT's for life didn't last though they backed out on that deal when the new MOT system came in, then we changed that for another 6 month old Honda Civic which was £5000 cheaper than new, we've had this one 10 years now and have no intention of changing it

Now I've waded through three pages of buckster and marcels weird courtship my brain has run out my ear and I've forgotten what i was going to say LOL

I had a hyperpro on there when i first started building it and i should have sent it back the day after i fitted it the damping was shit on it.
-
I'm hoping someone will start making them their easy enough to do if you have the equipment though. The bolts are unavailable as well i checked a few other bikes but they all have 10mm bolts and not 12mm like the dominator
-
Look after your rear suspension on the dominator there's practically nothing available for them collar wise now that includes the one that holds the swingarm on
-
Top Man Whats your thoughts on a YSS shock i know you've had one on something or other thinking of getting one for the dog
