Today's bodge i am really pleased with. As you know I fitted some LED lights to the Beta, they have three functions, full power, reduced power and flashing which cycle in that order every time you switch them on and off. I thought i could live with it but it's bugged me the few times I've used them. After some research on line i find some info about disabling the flash function by soldering a 10k resistor across the C2 capacitor, resistors are cheep so i ordered some and they arrived today. I took the lights apart and the C2 capacitor is clearly marked It was a tricky job as everything is so small but i got the resistor soldered on And it bloody works every time i switch them on and off they come on at full power now but the three mode option is still available if you toggle the switch quicker than a second at a time which is also good because the Beta's charging circuit can't handle full power all the time but it ok at the lower power setting. Why the fuck these manufacturers think you need a strobe setting on lights is beyond me whats it for

Did it drive out of there or was it towed
-
That's odd Bob my phone is set to High Efficiency and all the photos are JPEG

An old friend of mine used to have a mini and when his missus was driving he used to annoy her by pulling the handbrake up for some reason and then he got brand new Skoda Favorit and done the same handbrake thing, except the handbrake worked as it should in the Skoda the back wheels locked and his missus lost control of the car and spun into the crash barrier, they ended up in hospital luckily no one else was involved and they just had some minor cuts and bruises he never done that again

You have nothing to apologise for you just wrote what your honest experience was. I think there is some lost in translation moments here that are being taken to heart and their not intended that way, or i might be talking total bollocks as usual

They try it on all the time had to change companies with the Beta this year saved myself over £50. We had the same with AA recovery, every year they kept increasing their renewal price and every year the wife kept knocking them back down until 2 years ago they dug their heels in so we told them to shove it. Their renewal cost was around £180 up from the £120 we were paying, so this year we are back with them for £59 same cover as two years ago, for some reason they rip off their loyal customers who haven't made a single call to them but dangle a carrot for new customers

Forecast here doesn't look good enough for any outdoor work, the roads are dry at the moment though.

Just looked at my phone and it needs an update i may retract that comment once it's done

I'm not sure what you are doing Bob i just plug my phone into my PC and download what photos i want to a file and use them from there. Just had a look and their all JPEG files

I think your reading too much into it Pedro it just reads as normal forum banter to me People are just offering explanations for the experiences you had unfortunately it's human nature to dwell on the bad things rather than the good things you experienced but i see nothing malicious about it, hope you can see it for what it is and leave the post here for everyone to enjoy.

Sorry if anything i said upset you wasn't aimed at you just an alternative view of Pete's and his insatiable appetite to discredit the UK at every opportunity, your report is excellent and i read it exactly as you you said as a foreign travellers views and experiences in our country, i'm sure i would report the same way if i were traveling a foreign land as well as i am comfortable with what i know and i don't like different not saying you are the same though. As for the bird at port security sounds like she was the only one taking her job seriously and her inconsistency and everyone else's couldn't give a toss attitude made you feel victimised if everyone was searched i feel you would have felt better about it yourself.

Me and the wife had a combined policy on the cars for years until last year, the insurance company told us it would be cheaper to separate them out i think it was because mine is an import
-
Yes that's the one good thing I've found about getting old. But something else i have noticed is i'm paying the same for insurance on cars and bikes as i was when i was in my 20's back then it was extortionate not so much now

That's the cost of owning a missile, you need a nice CB500x you do

It all went tits up for me when too many rules started getting introduced, i agree you have to have the basic rules like it must be your bike, ridden that month and taken in landscape all common sense stuff that's all that was needed. For me it was a bit of fun and if somebody Mawlslyed it up a bit who cares the voters would either like it or not and the voting would reflect that. i hope @Pedro sticks it out way to go Pedro
