I've never had any experience with them so can't really answer that but since there was nothing wrong with the bike before it was parked up i would be looking at the air filter make sure nothing has moved in there and checking spark plugs but if it runs ok at higher revs the plugs should be ok. I don't want to worry him but i had a problem with the CDI on my old VFR years ago it would tick over ok but would be spluttering until i got over 6k and then it was fine fault was intermittent though so wasn't always there and it changed to running ok up to 6k and then spluttering after that sometimes.

The spring i fitted on the Beta has made a difference over the stock one in a good way, i was happy with the stock spring until a couple of weeks ago when i turned the pre load up on the front spring which got rid of all the deflections i was having on rocky ground and it also ironed out the small bumps on the road making the ride smoother, but it highlighted the rear was doing the same so i thought i'd swap the spring night before last that i kept off the 22 bike, now front and rear compliment each other the ride on the road is a lot smoother and off road it has made a big difference once i tweaked with the damping. It now rides pretty flat over the shallow whoops at a good speed without bottoming out on the start of my mountain track. i'm convinced the 22 bike had duff suspension from the factory because the manual says their the same but they are totally different.

A straight 4 like that will go down to almost tickover in top gear and pull smoothly away with no issues at least my CB1000 did their not like the twin cylinder engines

It's a lovely evening i think i shall go and test the rear suspension on the Beta see if i wasted my time changing the spring or not

12k seems a bit steep even if you do have the funds

I wouldn't worry about it Saul the bike hasn't done massive miles and to explain how robust the chains are, on one of my learner bikes the cam chain was so slack it wore through the cam chain tunnel on the cylinder casting and was exposed to all the crap off the road. I changed the cam chain and fixed the hole with instant gasket and carried on using the bike

Sir Fallsalot replied to Clive's topic in MOTORCYCLE WORKSHOP
I was thinking that myself when i had to scroll though the drivel to get to the bits Clive had posted. if only there was someone who had their fingers on the controls to move the relevant bits to a thread of its own -
He's busy

No point in complicating things saying that it would have been a lot easier to just buy the correct damn relay and plug it in
