Welcome aboard @Gordon....right off the bat, like you already as that's my Dad's name...lol My oldest grandson had the Ninja 400...loved it--even did a trackday with it. He eventually sold it on....now rides my old XT 600 SuMo...couldn't be happier. I did a stint at a bike shop awhile back & had the opportunity to turn a few spanners on ZX6's...nice bikes, but the ergo's will eventually take a toll on your body. Pretty, Fast bikes are 1 thing, but there a fair amount of Ergo-correct options out there that will make for quite a load of happy 2-wheel miles. It'll be great to see what you end up with....

Loads of liquid sunshine last night & more for today.....hopefully will finally wash the rest of the snow off the driveway, so we can start driving the car again. Then I can replace the headlights on the truck w/ a new set I just bought...as they've seen better days since the deer I hit a coupla years ago. Also will be into finishing "thorn-proofing" the tires on my better half's Etrike. There's no company that makes thorn-proof inner tubes for 20"x 3" fat tires...but I did buy some thorn-proof strips to be applied between the tubes & the inside of the tires....so we'll see how that pans out...

After a glorious day yesterday (weather-wise)....woke up to 16f this morning, so the slimey snow that's left has turned to crunchy hardness....the dogs liked it as they could run across it w/o sinking their short legs into it. Going with Mrs. Hook to have a go at building a FB page for our church today...that oughta be interesting...

Fortunately, had no need for water-proofing anything as it was early Sept....so the rain fly that covers the screen'd roof of the tent, was left home. That old Windjammer fairing was kool for just stuffing my sleeping bag into just in front of the gauges...no need to bungie it on the bike. I really loved the crisp air at the 6k ft. elevation....reminded me of skiing quite a bit.

Some pics from my trip down to AZ & back, in 2011.... Been to Crater Lake a few times since I was a kid... Riding down to there was awesome... Then went down the east side of northern CA...down to Susanville & then crossed over into NV... Camped out roadside at about 6k ft. level... When I left the next morning, this was the only greenery around for miles... Turns out to be a bird sanctuary....kinda cool out in the middle of the desert.... 1 thing I'll never forget is the clear desert sky's at night... I covered 2500 miles...down to Parker AZ & back....all in 98 hrs....about 625 miles per day....It was a blast!
