  1. The last day! Had to be the last day because the land ended!!
  2. Unashamedly we stopped after 50 kms because it was a sin not to! The atmosphere, the food, the wine, the staff, the views. Had to be done!! many feelings of nostaglia hit hard because Alentejo is were many of my roots are. Nostalgic moments were many, the last one an orange cake exactly like my mothernal grandmother used to make and of course, could not stop some tears. Asked for the recipe and will start making many orange cakes!!

  6. When you say "interesting" im assuming "worried"?! My friend Barbara, the one that goes to Canada riding, always wants to stop to photograph them, so I have told her Im not stopping abd I'll master all my skills to ride away as fast as possible!! The Sun as come out, but many showers as well. Its April, thats how it goes!! But beautiful landscapes and very remote locations with a lot of charecter. @Pedrofinds real jowels road wise and keeps taking amazing pictures. His images for BOTM will be tough to beat this time, many good choices.
  7. Todays daily news!! Yesterday we experienced Scotish weather and vistas and @Pedro had a snow bath!!
  8. I love them as long as they dont hit me thanks to the silly humans.
  9. First day was full of adventure and amazing views of the Douro Valley away from the tourist. Beautiful nature and at the same time man made landscapes that look like gardens but are actually working farms of wine and olives. This is a little daily news video, later will come riding videos.
  10. My best friend has a brother thst lives and works in Alberta and we had planned to go to the Rockys and then Alaska. She did it with her Dad, but I got styck in Germany... We still have many plans for Canada, she has a bike there permanently, so we will do it!! Now, wild camping... I did it last year for the first time, but no tent, just the car that is big enouth for a king mattress! It didnt go very well because a guy came after 10pm and started bathing in the dam nacked and dhowing his jowels in front of his headlights.... My dogs went bananas everytime they saw his daggling bits!! I just laughed very hard till it was all too dodgy and I left. Saying that, its less scary then a big bear!! ??
  11. Thank you!! @Tymwhy poland?? Sorry, but my little car is only driven by me.... In 20 years only 3 people drove it, and one was my dad. Its just my weakest link!!!
  12. Where would you like to go? Pedro will take many much better then me and you can count on a good supply frm him!! Will do my best to keep safe, portuguese insurence is rubbish..... Kiss
  13. So tomorrow I shall join @Pedro for a trip around Portugal. Fingers crossed for not to much rain, many nice roads and plenty of great evenings chatting while enjoying good food and good wine!! I made 2 little videos while loading tge bike in the garage. Its not great quality, for sure no where near @Grasshopper's Ride cinematographic excelence!! Its just a little amusing rambling of my part. Its the first time I have ever done this and it shows! Anyway, its just me talking to you!! Thanks for watching!
  14. Why do you say that?! You are the last person I can imagine chasing anyone with a shovel! It strikes me your super power is in approaching things softly, not with force. Embrace it, its a great quality! Like the Queen said about the tragedy of 9/11, "Grief is the price you pay for Love" . Dogs teach us that Love is always worth it and also loyalty no matter what! They are amazing teachers and you are caring for your dog in the best way possible, not sleeping to stay with her ans seating there in silence is magical and difficult in equal measure. Well done!!
  15. thanks for this website, i keep trying to find alternatives for this treatment here in portugal and struggling. I recomend this a lot to seniors. Now I have a pet food with it included!
  16. Maybe you are an undercover inspector and maybe its better I dont invite you for diner!!
  17. Its complicated... but lets say almost 2 years
  18. So today marked the day the Portuguese plate was fitted to the bike! By me, with the assistance of @Pedro that from a distance, via the phone, knew exactly where the 3 screws were and guided me along the task. How does he know these things is a mystery to me!! And because I did the job, no its is not straight!! No problem for me, I am very crooked myself, so we match! I have mixed feelings about this. It is not with easy for me the transition to Portugal and its paradoxes of social injustice, I am always in fear of what can happen here and for which I have no protection, like not being able to have full comprehensive insurance. Also my speeding habits will have to be kept under control a lot more!! Its also another tie cut with my previous life . I am happy to move on, very happy actually, I kept the best things from that time, the best people and the lessons, so a new road is being traveled and it has been, so far, a lot better then I could have ever imagined!! The new plate, philosophically, in its essence means : Accept and Let Go!! Goodbye Germany, hello Portugal!! It will start its life with a round trip of Portugal, and fingers crossed will not hit anything in sight, specially not @Pedro white elephant!!!
