We had to make a change in plans as the weather here is very cold for Spring. Where we were headed had fresh snow the other day so we decided to hang out at a lovely B&B in the countryside for a few days. Then we are either headed to Prince George, British Columbia....or into the next Province (Alberta) to look at a travel trailer.......that's what happens when you get an internet connection after a week, you start shopping.....lol We are looking at maybe something like this...

Into the third week of my adventure and I'm looking back at last week. I have to say the highlight of the week was our hike through a park to a waterfall. I have seen some waterfalls in my day, but this one was amazing as the surrounding area was just as stunning. Helmcken Falls is a 141 m (463 ft) waterfall on the Murtle River within Wells Gray Provincial Park in British Columbia, Canada. The protection of Helmcken Falls was one of the reasons for the creation of Wells Gray Provincial Park in 1939. Helmcken Falls is the fourth highest waterfall in Canada, measured by total straight drop without a break. What a sight....

A dream indeed!

Yes, I was told the trout are very good and fishing there is common. There was almost no one around. The park caretaker was really cool as well. She brought us fresh baked snacks the second day we were there.

As the second week of my journey starts I have had a chance to look back at the first week. We were in the backcountry fast and without cell reception for most of the week. I have just now had a few days with the internet to touch base with the world. We have already seen some amazing places but one of my favourites was a place called Marble Canyon. We camped beside Turquoise lake in the middle of this beautiful canyon. We stayed there for a few days and just enjoyed this magical place. If you look real close in about the middle of the photo you can see our little red tent....

We picked up a ladder for the back of the vehicle. Something to use with the canoe and also for storing our extra fuel and trash bag on.

We left the Sunshine Coast (home) today and are heading to Vancouver Island to pickup some equipment. We will be on the island for a few days, then back to the mainland to head North. Hey Tym Hope you are well.

Hey everyone, so today is my adventure departure day. Had an early start and what a beautiful day for traveling on some ferries. Overcast with some mist in the mountains. Here’s to a new chapter. Have a great weekend everyone.

I have now enjoyed my first week of being away from work and I am slowly starting to unwind. I had some time this week to finish my intro video for my new YouTube channel Grasshopper's Travels. I wasn't going to bother with a new channel, but I really enjoy putting together the videos and having somewhere to store them so I can go back and remember my adventures. I wanted to share it with you fine folks.

Hey @XTreme, and @Slowlycatchymonkey.... You had asked where I have been lately.... The last few months have been crazy and life is unfolding quickly...... Sold our house months before we thought we would, when we had a surprise private offer on the place. The housing market here is nuts right now and in our favour for a change. That meant February was spent with meeting the buyers, meeting their families, having house inspections, etc..... Finally the deal was done at the end of February. March then turned into letting my clients know I was leaving and finding them new accountants / bookkeepers, which there is a shortage of right now. I finish up my last client next week and then I am officially retired from my profession!! In the meantime I have continued to sell everything we own, including 4 bikes, which can take some time. Thankfully the only one left is the CB500F, which should sell in the next month. On top of that I had an old friend pass away recently, which is sad, as I had hoped to visit him on my journey. My partner also just lost both his parents within a month and we are still sad from the loss of our dog in December, a bit too much death. Thankfully having a dream journey of a lifetime in front of us, has helped distract us from all the sadness. We leave at the end of April for our travels. The gear is ready and the routes are almost all planned as we head into some of the most remote places in Canada. I have had to do things like register Personal Locator Beacons so I can be rescued by the Canadian Military or Search and Rescue if I am in the middle of nowhere and dying... So I have not had a lot of time for extras and I feel bad just showing up when I can not keep up with everyone. I do miss everyone and hope to have more time to visit soon. I still would enjoy sharing my journey with everyone.

The sun has been around this weekend so we took the opportunity to try out our new 23Zero Awning. We spoiled ourselves and got the add on walls. WOW!!! So nice, so much space.......LOVE IT!!!! . It will make for a nice set up if we decide to stay somewhere for a few days. This is not fully set up, didn't stake it in, but it just makes the 4Runner disappear......cool camouflage!

I will for sure share my adventures! The Clipper (Canadian Manufacture) Prospector (type of canoe) is a well known boat in these parts. A trusty craft for sure, they have a long history!

The whole point of this journey is to blend into nature, I have made enough noise riding through the bush. That looks fun, but way too fast......I am going to be taking my sweet ass time at everything I do when I am on the road.....

I thought I would explain my upcoming adventure as a few of you have asked. I know @Tym tried to explain it, but here is the story @Six30. In a nutshell we, my partner and I, are selling or giving away everything we own expect what we need on the adventure. Wrapping up over 20 years of a long chapter in life. This has been a dream for awhile and we have been working towards this for years now. With our dog passing over the holidays it meant that we can put the final pieces in place. The big stuff can go now, like the bikes, guitars, the big toys and such. Then we need to sell our little house and beautiful property. The housing market here is crazy right now. High prices and low inventory. We have paid for the place, so we can afford to retire early from work we dislike and travel for a few years. Still having enough to settle down again, when and if we decide too. Once everything is gone we will hit the road with the new adventure team of Gazoo, the 4Runner and our new canoe (still to be named). The idea is to just travel around Canada, with the North being the first destination. Artic Circle here I come!!!! Then the East Coast and beyond. Taking photos all along the way, and I hope to find the time to write as well. We have all the camping gear you could imagine, no need to be miserable out there....lol. But yes @XTreme there might lots of tent photos....lol Canada was practically built on the waterways in canoes, so I want to trace some of the heritage and history as well. I want to meet new people, see new places and learn lots of bushcraft. I am so very excited about this new adventure and scared of course, it is a big deal wrapping up a life you know so well for the unknown. I appreciate this forum very much as it allows me a place to share and almost clear my thoughts. I will try and keep it to my Grasshopper thread, as someone did wish for me to hit the door in my recent poll, don't want to get on people's nerves and all.....

Well there you have it! I found a new home for Bagheera today and said my good byes... . But so happy for the fast sale. I think he went to a good home. An interesting fella by the name of Rick. He didn't seem to mechanically inclined though, so I hope the bike doesn't give him too much trouble......seeing as it was a pain in the ass bike most of it's life.... He is a rider and has some adventures planned, so I was happy to see him so stoked. . This is Rick in India on a Bullet. All loaded up...... One last pic together.....See ya buddy.....
