MO Tested: Alpinestars Faster 3 Rideknit Riding Shoes
Grasshopper replied to Peon Maface's topic in MOTORCYCLE CHAT
Really..... I wouldn't wear those on a mountain biking let alone on a motorcycle....but that's just me. -
Beauty of some trails, nice riding! ?

Stay Calm, Ride On! ? Yes, it is helpful having a tall guy around, he has the Seat Concepts seat for his Himalayan to make it taller.

Well that's an understatment..... ?

So true, I have been on harder stuff and had some close calls but those slow going falls can bite you in the butt. I was a bit scared yesterday as I got into some really steep stuff, but need to work through the fear to get better. Made it home without any new scratches. ?

lol....it is heavy for a 410cc bike, then with my back rack, engine guards (which were well used) and a few other bits it adds up. Keeps me in shape that is for sure. I just happened to take off the hard bags that day, which is very rare, but glad I did or one might be full of dents.... As I get into more crazy situations in the backcountry a smaller bike is sure looking nice, but I love my Himalayan. ?

The rocks can be mean, I'm glad I had my back protector in as I fell back onto the rocks. Very happy the 400lbs of Bagheera didn't come down on me. ??

It was bound to happen, and in the end all is well and lessons have been learned. Bagheera has a few new scratches, but only on the protective gear I put on him, which is cool. I was nervous about falling on a rocky hill and how I would handle it. Sure, I sound a bit silly and the dismount is not the most graceful, yet slightly comical, I did managed to turn around on a steep hill and if I hadn't slowed down so much, I would have made it. As they say, momentum is your friend!

That food makes me not want to eat at all......? I'm sure it is tasty but not very photogenic....?

All very nice bags, but after riding with a backpack for years I wouldn't do again unless I lived in a city and had a street bike. For adventure riding, I find the backpack way too hot and I'm not really into falling with a load of stuff on my back, especially camera gear, ouch....

I highly recommend the Hero 7 Black, the stabilization is light years better then any previous GoPro's. I usually get two hours a battery shooting video at 2.7K or 4K. I carry extra batteries and always seem to have enough power for a day trip. Anything longer requires a power pack or something for recharging.

It is going to be really busy where I live, tourist everywhere, places they shouldn't be.....so I'm going to lay low for Saturday and then go adventuring on Sunday. Today was supposed to be the relaxing Friday ride, but turned into a "hey let's see what up there".....to "oh dear I'm not making it up this".....to "I'm down I'm down.....SHIT, so much for relaxing.....video to follow. Bagheera and the Grasshopper made it out, but without all the guards I have on Bagheera it could have been messy. ??

Most likely......but her latest trip on the Honda is a bit annoying, maybe I have just seen her too much. It is getting better now that she is on that Honda, but everywhere I went when I first had my Himalayan.....people be like.... "ohhhh you MUST watch Itchy Boots"...... I be like, "ya no shit". It was about as bad as when I was little, people be like "ohhhh your name is Michelle, have you heard that Beatles song, here let me sing it for you"....and I be like, "shut the hell up" ? ok, I feel better, venting done..... ? I think I'll watch Long Way Up, the quality looks great ?

I understand the idea behind the video, the commute and all, and I know he mentions it.....BUT DAMN, kind of missed the point of this motorcycle..... Horses for Courses as they say ?
