I'd like to do Belgium as well someday. Just for the beers....
-
No it wouldn't - you'd be fine. It's not as hard as it looks. A few beers at night and you'd be good to go again the next day. I could also do a ride that doesn't leave Colorado - much less distance to cover, etc. But hotel prices in this State are very high for substandard rooms. Nice rooms are like $400 a night. It'd be nicer to get out to Utah and cheaper / better rooms with great riding.

My wife's company has 3 hotels in Anchorage, so I've gone there with her a few times. While she works, I just drive/ ride around looking at stuff. It's pretty barren outside of the bigger towns and the scenery isn't much different from my home area. Don't have a great desire to ride all the way there though. The insects in the summer are just unreal - huge turn off for me.

Only have two scheduled so far. Hope add some more as the riding season gets closer. One; a route I've don e many times including Reno, California coast into Oregon and back home through Salt Lake City. Always fun. Two; the West Virginia down to Tennessee, Deal's Gap and back home via Oklahoma route. Have done this a few times before as well and it's always fun. Any of you wankers wanna come over and join us? It'd be fun to have a foreigner along to laugh at. And you'll get a fully guided tour of the USA for the low, low price of free. West coast ride is about 3,000 miles / 7 days and the eastern portion would be about 5,000 miles / 10 days. Could do longer as far as days goes if required.

Been there twice - in the winter both times. Park was closed but you coyuld still see some of the good views, etc. Bugs / mosquitos are horrendous in the summer time.

High of -12C here today with snow. Locals will barely notice that it's cold and snowing. I'm just kidding you - I realize a little snow there is a big deal for the reasons you stated.
-
Oh no - it's snowing there?!?! How ever will you cope. Shit is asshole deep on a 9 foot Indian here. I feel your pain.
-
Nope - never have. Always been more of a speed metal kind of person.

Ahhh ya pussy! I'm weird in that I get up around that time most days anyway - so it's not a bother for me. It's gotta be done before the school opens for the day though. Place has a shitload of steps as , like everything else here, it's on the side of the mountain ...

Got another 12" last night. Fun! I shovel the steps and decks on the house myself and a contractor does our driveway as it's about 160 feet long - too long to shovel by hand. They charge $80 per snow - not a flat rate. Last year, when it snowed 61" in a day, they charged double that amount as they had to bring in extra equipment to do it. Ends up costing anywhere from $2,500 to $3,500 per year usually. Looks cool, too.... In addition to that, I volunteer at our local school and shovel the steps and walkways there. It's kinda fun in a weird way. We get there at 0400 on snowy days and shovel for about 3 hours to get all of the steps done before school. It's good exercise, too.

12F / -11 C today with 13 inches of new white stuff so far and it's still coming down. I'll be out on the driveway if anyone needs me ....

Nice pics! I've got to get back to Scotland for some riding someday.
-
Hello and welcome! Let me know if you're up for a lap around the USA someday - always wanted to do that. Ireland is great for riding - lovely place.

Sounds like you need to stay home in bed. But you'd end up wrapping a sheet around your head and suffocating....
-
That could have really hurt - glad you survived!

Looks like a perfect day. Nice post!

Yeah right - that Mama moose would have stomped you into a stain on the driveway.
