  1. Had time today to ride to Aspen, Colorado and back today. After a busy holiday weekend, the roads were a bit less crowded,
  2. Well there you go then. SEO. Nice job!
  3. What makes his page go up in search engines? Amount of related content? Number of posts?
  4. Some leftover pics from the ride not previously posted. Just some random stuff. Last two pics are of the old schoolhouse in Georgetown, Colorado...
  5. Nice pics! Let me know if you have any openings for next year's trip. haven 't been able to ride this year for shit, so I'll save up for a longer route next year. That bear in the glass case looks like the Anchorage Airport bear - have a pic somewhere of me next to it.
  6. What is that small, square building with the steel tank looking thing on top? Water storage?
  7. As soon as I saw the table set, I was back on the bike and gone. As a kid, I grew up around open space and roads like this. We used to ride our motocross bikes on dirt roads like these, doing long power slides for days while attempting to spray your friends with rocks. Or snow in the winter time. We had more space than we knew what to do with.
  8. We have a Stage 1 fire ban and Red Flag Warnings in effect here; No Shooting, no outside fires and no fireworks allowed. Sucks. They just don't wang the mountains catching on fire. It's been very dry here. Couple of years ago, some kids were shooting tracer rounds and burned up a hill or two and some homes.
  9. There was probably a bunch of ranchers there years ago raising cattle and they built it for their kids. The odd part is; who is maintaining it now? No towns for 75 miles around it. And what's with the upside down star / pentagram over the door? KInda weird as well.
  10. Celebrating Independence from the Evil Empire. So that means grilling steaks and blowing shit up with copious amounts of beer.
  11. For those playing along at home, here's today's ride...
  12. Wasn't long and I was back where I could breathe again, no humidity and cool air. 1/2 hour from home...
  13. 100 miles or so later and I saw this old, abandoned factory that is falling in on itself. I 'd guess, by the architecture, that it isn't that old. 1920's maybe? Kinda Art-Deco looking. I walked around back before getting outta there as it creeped me out; lots of old pottery and dishes set out like someone was going to be eating there soon...
  14. Cool part was that it wasn't posted and wasn't locked, so I opened the door and shot some pics without actually going inside. Old slate blackboards are still up on the wall, although someone nicked their stove which should have been in front of the chimney...
  15. All was not lost though as I found an old (1899) abandioned school house out in Buttfuck, Nowhere for Pete. Had a newer roof and someone also added some rope grout to the brick....
  16. Anyway, back at it today - heading back home. Today was just fucking hot; 100F/38C and 90%+ humidity - sucks the life right out of you. Air was so thick that I couldn't breathe and I had 400 miles to cover....
  17. Mmmmmm She was "in it to win it" and damned near did!
  18. Don't I know it. One day they're all lovey dovey, licking the salt off of your truck in the driveway and the next night the bastids jump in front of your truck....
  19. As an American, this is the only castle that I like to visit...
  20. It is a place of extremes; extremely hot right now but extremely cold in the winter. The rain stoprms, when they have them, are full of torandos and 3-4 inches of rain in an hour. Passed a lot of cattle and cattle trucks yesterday - nothing smells worse when it's 95F - will get some shots of them today on my way home.
