Gilman is a more modern ghost town where they once mined lead - as recently as 2005 or so. It polluted the entire area and it is now off limits to people...

Had some time off todfay, so a quick blast was in order. Couldn't think of anywhere to go, so over to Minturn / Gilman it was...

Looks like the wheelie wasn't the problem. The landing of said wheelie might have caused an issue thoguh....

Expecting 8-12 inches tonight, ( and no, I don't need to hear "That's what she said" jokes ? ). Hopefully the forecast is off by a bit and it misses us....

Looks like a hiking path that motorcycles aren't suppposed to be on. Very narrrow.

I've always had Tourances on my GS - they were a great road tire, but not so much off road.

Yeah, it's a bit of a hike to do in 2 days. I've done that ride many times and wouldn't be looking forward to it at all.

I'v no idea how they come up with these ratios. Dave in the marketing department probably throws a dart at a board or something.?

They sell them as 50/50 but I'd believe they're more like a 80/20 leaning towards street use more. Felt really odd on the freeway coming home last night - wandering a bit off of a straight line. But that could have been my suspect riding skills or the fact that they're a new tire I'm not used to. Bit of a humm from the front at 40-50 mph, but that's expected.

I have three guys from Ohio arriving tomorrow - after their 1,300 miles of shit riding across the Midwest (Kansas sucks more than anything in the World) in two days. They'll stay here for a night or two before continuing on westward. Will probably ride with them for a bit Sunday before splitting off and returning home. Pics to follow, of course.
