American Indian reservations are kinda odd. At every gas stop, you're swarmed by feral dogs looking for some handout to eat. Big groups of them are at each fuel stop waiting for food....

Quick ride through Navajo Nation and Monument Valley...

South of Monticello, we crossed into Arizona and into the desert again...

On to our oh so swanky hotel in Monticello, Utah. Town was a barren wasteland and we were lucky that they even had a hotel, so I should bitch too much. Even had an adjacent Mexican restaurant with decent food ...

Quick stop at the now defunct Bedrock Store ...

Headed west towards the La Sal Mountains of Utah ...

Railed the canyons of western Colorado ....

Grand Junction is in the western desert so there was no snow. Just a bit chilly but we were okay with that. Dropped the truck and trailer ....

My riding buddy Todd and I wanted to get a jump on the riding season and scheduled a trip to Arizona for mid May. Our plan was to depart my house and head due south. Great plan, but it was cold as shit when on the day we were to leave with additional snow in the forecast for when we were to return. Time for Plan B. We loaded a trailer up and headed west to Grand Junction, Colorado where it was warmer and he could head south from there,

Should have seen it here in March - 61" in one day. Not a lot of fun diggin ' out.

And he'd be amazed that there is snow on the ground , as usual. He never accepted the fact that we have snow here all year long.

Yes -about time, too! I got out last month to Arizona but had to trailer 300 miles out of the snow to get there.

Gonna try to get out again tomorrow and head to the southern part of the state....

The Wang is filthy from sitting in the garage all winter and I haven't washed it yet this Spring. There's just so much slop on the roads from snowmelt - hardly worth washing it. Maybe tomorrow...

Being a weekday, there was little traffic and the summer tourists aren't quite here yet in numbers. Pretty empty roads...
