  1. No- the Gold Thing. Will be riding two up with the wife on a couple of days in Vegas.
  2. So I got off my ass and polished up the Wang today. Hope it stays clean for a bit of the ride...
  3. Vegas looks to be warm with highs around 35C ....
  4. I had planned on leaving for Vegas on Thursday, but then read the weather report for Thursday.... >>>>For the north-central mountains (and front-range mountains), including areas near Eagle, Summit, Grand, ClearCreek, western Boulder/Larimer counties the main rain/snow event will be from 9pm Wed to 9am Fri (heaviest Thu afternoon / evening): 6-12" of new snow mostly above 9k ft, with up to 15" in areas near/along the Cont. Divide: Cameron Pass, RMNP, IPW, Berthoud Pass, Jones Pass, areas near Grays/Torreys, etc will be favored)<<<< Well fuck me runnin' - gonna have to leave on Wednesday morning to beat it outta the hills before the shit storm starts. As we live at 10,000', it's definitely not gonna be riding weather Thursday. Tomorrow's route. Will probably stay overnight at the Colorado / Utah state line just to kill some time. Wife is flying into Vegas on Friday and I don't want to get there too early...
  5. -3C right now, might try to get out on the Tenere if it warms up later. Haven't been out on it yet this year.
  6. It's "Mr. Casual" to you.
  7. Yea, I live in rural Colorado..... Was getting fuel today in Ned and this guy pulls up next to me with a dead bull in his truck. Nice.
  8. That's the questions, innit? If he can flat foot the 650 of choice, then it should be a great starter bike.
  9. Or an aluminum baseball bat to the shins - gives that really nice "pting!" sound.
  10. Ohhh - that sounds good; be a tour guide guinea pig! I'd kinda like that actually. Hate wine - so no need to see any of that. Be up for the food though. As far as I know, it'd be one couple (Dave and Debbie) and myself. Doubt my wife will do another long tour after the Ireland debacle. Neither of us are shy of sporty rides. I think Morocco might be out; but can discuss with Dave when I see him next month.
  11. 35C doesn't bother me at all - so it'd probably be more of a May / June time frame should we go there. Did a three week tour in Ireland once - rained each and every day. So I'd rather keep with the dry.
  12. I'd think around 10 days in country with 2 travel days on each end.
  13. Have done Wales a couple of times as well - forgot to include in the original post. But would also go back.
  14. I've been to Spain a couple of times - but mostly to see the race at Jerez. Didn't get to see much else during one trip and saw a little more on the second trip - still not enough though. I'll assume bike hire is available there? Any recommendations for hire shops?
  15. Sitting in a Texas bar with my buddy Dave, we were discussing trips for 2024 and the desire to go further afield. Thought we'd give someplace in Europe a try this time. I've done England, Scotland and Ireland a bunch of times - so don't really wanna go there. Have done Germany, Italy, Switzerland and France a few times as well, but would go back. Dave has never done any of Europe. So where would you guys suggest we go - and why?
  16. I was broke and $20 is $20.
  17. Things I learned about Texas - 1) The riding kinda sucks. Straight, featureless roads that go on for miles 2) The people that live there are beyond friendly and super nice. We were amazed at how hospitable everyone was. 3) Food is pretty damned good - never had a bad meal! Same for New Mexico. 4) I'll be back..... but not on a bike.
  18. Right at 500 miles today, and I'm finally home. Stopped in northern New Mexico on the way for a snack and fuel. Today was sunny and warm thew entire day - great day for a long ride...
  19. At least my burps and farts don't smell like cum. Now that's gay.
  20. That;s racist! Happy birthday anyway.
  21. Kinda weird. But here in Santa Fe the elevation is 6,700'feet. It's a lot colder when you're over a mile high. That's the difference. It got sunny and about 45F in the mid afternoon today. rather pleasant. But still had 35 mph winds so riding would be no fun. Tomorrow should be sunny all day and allow us to get back to Colorado with no issues.
  22. I'm riding to Las Vegas in 2 weeks - if it snows then, I'm gonna kill someone. Seems I just can't escape the snow no matter where I go.
