  1. Yea, I live in rural Colorado..... Was getting fuel today in Ned and this guy pulls up next to me with a dead bull in his truck. Nice.
  2. That's the questions, innit? If he can flat foot the 650 of choice, then it should be a great starter bike.
  3. Or an aluminum baseball bat to the shins - gives that really nice "pting!" sound.
  4. Ohhh - that sounds good; be a tour guide guinea pig! I'd kinda like that actually. Hate wine - so no need to see any of that. Be up for the food though. As far as I know, it'd be one couple (Dave and Debbie) and myself. Doubt my wife will do another long tour after the Ireland debacle. Neither of us are shy of sporty rides. I think Morocco might be out; but can discuss with Dave when I see him next month.
  5. 35C doesn't bother me at all - so it'd probably be more of a May / June time frame should we go there. Did a three week tour in Ireland once - rained each and every day. So I'd rather keep with the dry.
  6. I'd think around 10 days in country with 2 travel days on each end.
  7. Have done Wales a couple of times as well - forgot to include in the original post. But would also go back.
  8. I've been to Spain a couple of times - but mostly to see the race at Jerez. Didn't get to see much else during one trip and saw a little more on the second trip - still not enough though. I'll assume bike hire is available there? Any recommendations for hire shops?
  9. Sitting in a Texas bar with my buddy Dave, we were discussing trips for 2024 and the desire to go further afield. Thought we'd give someplace in Europe a try this time. I've done England, Scotland and Ireland a bunch of times - so don't really wanna go there. Have done Germany, Italy, Switzerland and France a few times as well, but would go back. Dave has never done any of Europe. So where would you guys suggest we go - and why?
  10. I was broke and $20 is $20.
  11. Things I learned about Texas - 1) The riding kinda sucks. Straight, featureless roads that go on for miles 2) The people that live there are beyond friendly and super nice. We were amazed at how hospitable everyone was. 3) Food is pretty damned good - never had a bad meal! Same for New Mexico. 4) I'll be back..... but not on a bike.
  12. Right at 500 miles today, and I'm finally home. Stopped in northern New Mexico on the way for a snack and fuel. Today was sunny and warm thew entire day - great day for a long ride...
  13. At least my burps and farts don't smell like cum. Now that's gay.
  14. That;s racist! Happy birthday anyway.
  15. Kinda weird. But here in Santa Fe the elevation is 6,700'feet. It's a lot colder when you're over a mile high. That's the difference. It got sunny and about 45F in the mid afternoon today. rather pleasant. But still had 35 mph winds so riding would be no fun. Tomorrow should be sunny all day and allow us to get back to Colorado with no issues.
  16. I'm riding to Las Vegas in 2 weeks - if it snows then, I'm gonna kill someone. Seems I just can't escape the snow no matter where I go.
  17. I'll probably head out in the truck in awhile and try to find something to do. Had planned on local riding today but that's pretty much out now. More pics later.....
  18. It's Saturday morning now and Dave and Debbie are heading back to Indy today while we stay here another night. They were gonna leave this morning but it's snowing like a bitch here now, so their departure is delayed. Slushy roads are cold so they are gonna wait until noon and hope for warmer weather....
  19. Back to the hotel for the night. Did mention we got rock star parking here?
  20. Later in the walk and I think I bowed at the alter of Satan. So probably back to a net zero as far as church visitations go ....
  21. Took a walk around town after dinner and stopped by another old church. Two churches in one day - I should be good for another 2-3 years now....
  22. Got out last night to the Coyote Cafe Cantina for some beers and chow ...
